so how would you guys go about making a good 1850 point army comprised of mainly terminators nad henchmen

i was thinking for HQ

kaldor draigo 275

5 paladins, 2 psycannons, 3 halberds, apothecarie, 3 master crafted 405
5 paladins, 2 psycannons, 3 halberds, apothecarie, 390

and obviously some paladins and terminators

but can yall help me make a great army? please?

A small attempt at you making a list would be nice.

Try choosing Draigo + Paladins

Then add as many terminators into that as you can. See what you get and post it.

Paladins die to Terminator killing weapons just as easily as actual terminators do. S8 is murder. You become practically immune to Autocannons, small arms fire, etc... but that's not what you should be worrying about.

I would honestly go with normal terminator squads instead and support with Henchman meatshields/ranged support, Dreadnoughts, Interceptors.

Started wargaming with heroscape. Who says kids can't be generals?

Hmm I would forget about draigo and paladin spam. I'd say one unit of paladins with grandmaster, then fill up with cortez, terminators, and henchmen. Psybolt Riflemen dreads will also form a solid backbone

Draigo and Paladin spam =/= Competitive

Its not possible, you can have Draigo as a HQ and some paladins, but you'll need Coteaz and Henchmen to do the hard slog.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...

i tested 2 5 man paladin units and they did phenominal, 8 psycannon shots a turn each on the move, really destroyed transports. in combat they were amazing .

If you're going with Paladin spam then take all Haldberds except have 1 guy take a Daemon Hammer encase you get assaulted by a walker or MC.

I disagree. You shouldn't take any force swords off unless you give one guy a warding stave so you can allocate the lascannon shots on him for the 2+ save. You know why you keep the force swords on? Because they make your invul 4+ instead of 5+...giving you a 50 percent chance of surviving the termie killer weapons.

Draigo can cast Hammerhand, as can the paladins/termies. Now you're strength 6. So here's what I'm doing...adding a librarian in the mix for a third hammerhand and even a might of titan if needed. Now paladins are strength 8 and draigo is 9. Upgrade the librarian to psyker level 3 and you can make them all init 10 also. Nothing will survive assault with that, your paladins will be even more survivable with a 4+ invul and a 2+ invul to handle anti-tank shots. Worried about dreads still? Then take summon in case you need to call a dreadknight to your side...but frankly, I think a strength 9 draigo or some of the librarians psychic attacks will deal with dreads.

? How on earth does the warding stave help against Lascannons? So which would you rather a 4+ invun against attacks or to not face those attacks at all? The Halberd is the better defensive option almost every time.

Again with the Warding stave helping you with shots. How exactly? Why would you need a 4+ invun when you're strength 9 and I10? Falchions make the most sense in that case to take maximum benefit from those buffs. And that unit is now about 1000 points (chuck a techmarine or 2 in there to go all out if thats your tactic). Yeah it is a deathstar but eggs in 1 totally unmanoucreable basket and all.

Even further compounding the eggs and basket issue.
