Hallo and good evening Dakka

I am about to make my own Big Mek Conversions, two actually, and i have almost all the items for it.
I am using a Nob body with a Mek head and the backpack from the Lootaz and Burna pack. I am taking dis and that from most of the different kits i have gotten over the time collecting Orks.

But!.. The KFF is still my main problem. I have no idea and what so ever how i can make a KFF to my Big Mek? I would apreciate all the help and suggestions my fellow dakkadits can provide! I really don't have any parts that are big enough that can be converted to be a KFF so a again! Really need some help from you!

Best Regards ZanZag

I used a piece of "T" shaped sprue, the power cell and electro-fencing from the battle for macragge, part of a kustom mega blasta, and a grot to straddle the top.

Inside that little light in your refridgerator

Just any mechanical-looking gubbinz you have laying around. Some little pylons, a power generator and some shiney bits and you should be good.

Grab anything that looks like its mechanical and will make for a good back pack. A T shaped thingy or something that can be made into them. Really as long as its mechanical looking and has the similar shape you cannot go wrong.

basically if it looks like it can shoot electricity, it should be fine. Alternatively, grab a gun drone and stick it on a...well... stick. Then glue wires coming off it and say your Big Mek looted a Shield Drone.

use 2 bits of sprue, coil a spring around it and put a ball on top

Vaguely Tesla coil-shaped thingies are very ork-tech. I've seen plenty of passable KFFs made from little more than a marble on a stick (often a bit of pen tube, which also makes seating the marble easier) with a loose coil of wire around it, all coming out of a generic backpack (burna tank, big shoota ammo pack, kommando rucksack, etc.).

It might not be the prettiest thing around, but you could make something recognizable as a KFF using nothing but paperclips and a cannibalized retractable pen. Most ork conversions are just a matter of deciding between one of two plans of attack: Making designs based on what you have or scrounging what you need based on what you envision.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

Here's mine! The 'spinny bit' is attached to a brass rod sitting free in a drilled hole about 2cm into the zappiest looking deffgun I could find - the best thing about it is that it really spins, although making it removeable is important for transport because the rest of the spinny-bit is quite finely pinned. The gubbins up top are grot-prods from Gretchin boxes and the hand-controller is obviously a part from the AOBR Deffkopta. Sorry about the terrible photos.

As said before vox casters work great. I used a squad vox caster on top of a vehicle vox caster and it looks simple but great.

I like to shop at dollar stores for inspiration. Im talking those dollar stores that get the weird gak from Asian countries. I take apart toys and whatnot for the gears and wires and such. Youd be surprised at the amount of awesome Orky stuff to find there. Thats what I made my first KFF out of as well as using a few plasma cannon backpacks for the backpack.

Ive also found that a few random Tau things look nice on a KFF. Just let your imagination go, basically grab a pile of useless junk and see what you can make from it all

Again thanks for the many ideas and tips i am on my way to make my first KFF now. I found a nice looking sprues and trying to put in some stealwire around it. I am pretty new at converting my Orks as i usually just take from the GW kits instead of using tools in the house. But i already got a pretty good idea how it should look like! So again thanks
