I just started playing Space Wolves (is also my first Marine Army) and have more or less fallen in love with the idea of a drop-pod centered list. Is a DP list feasible with a Space Wolves Army? If so, do you guys have any suggestions what I should run, what they should get, etc?

Thank's a whole bunch, Guys!

Yes I think that a Drop Pod assault would be perfect with a SW army. You're definitely going to want a few Squads of Grey Hunters. They are probably one of the most, if not the most, versatile troops in any army. I personally don't use Blood Claws because of the WS/BS of 3. You also want to upgrade one of your Grey Hunters with Mark of the Wulfen. It is a must choice if you're going to assault.

Wolf Guard Termies would be nice to fill in those pods as well. They have a variety of wargear to choose from i.e. twin wolf claws, assault cannon, th/ss, etc.

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions about SW!

I usually hear Logan when drop pods are mentioned for a SW army.

Yeah Logan works well if you want to do a Pod based list. People go on about how good Grey Hunters are, but Wolf Guard are a much more flexible troop choice (2A, Ld9, much better weapon options). Obviously they aren't worth it until you get to 1500pts+ otherwise the you don't get enough benefit out of Logan.

I have played Space Wolves with 4 drop pods. Two are anti - armor (melta guns, combi-melta) and two are anti-infantry (power weapons, plasma weapons) Depending on what my opponent has and how he deploys I decide which two pods to use the first turn. If he is mechanized I drop the melta squads and take out two tanks first turn. If he has terminators or lots of infantry, drop the infantry pods (out of assault range) and start shooting.

The advantage in both cases is that you will probably take out at least one high priority target and will create a distraction in your opponents rear that he will have to focus on, which means less firepower for the rest of your armor coming up the middle (I use predators, vindicators and land speeders to spearhead up the middle).

If you opponent deploys smartly he can turtle his vehicles or give cover to his elite foot units then just drop the pods out of range and dismount them so you can get cover saves. They are still a distraction to your opponent and you can use them next turn.

Grey Mage over at the bolter and chainsword has perfected drop pod lists with SW I belive.

Drop pods are better with SW then any other army. Grab as manny drop pods as posible, and land some emty the first turn if he keeps everything reserves (long fangs are good for this) and try to land as many threaths as posibly if he does not have anything in reserves. (Keep the emty long fang pods in the second wave then.)

With 2 melta attacks per 6 squads, counter attack and wolf banner, space wolves are very competent dorp podders.
