I don't keep up with Games Workshop news all that well outisde of Dakka, so I was wondering if more Codexes were on their way. From what I've heard about the fluff in the new GK one, I'm not sure if I want any others.

Also what is the proper plural form of Codex? Codices? Codexes? Codis?

There are always new codexes coming out, GW is a product-based company and being stagnant doesnt generate interest in said products.

Regardless of how you spell it, I think it is a given that there will be more of them. They bring what 3 of them out a year?

Easily Necrons, Sisters of Battle, or Tau, which according to some of the best rumor mongers two of them are probably for sure this year, with the other being early 2012.

I hope the other two for 2012 are Chaos Space Marines and Eldar.

And that would put all the codices more or less in 5th edition. The more or less being orks (who are a 4th/5th hybrid codex), Black Templar (who got an update with their FAQ), and Dark Angels (same as BT). What more could you really ask for?

That would be enough for me. Put Orks out as a 6th Edition Codex out in 2013 along with Black Templars and Space Marines and I could seriously go into 6th edition with a good outlook.

This is all speculation, but here's the order that I expect from earliest to latest:

Necrons
SoB
Tau
CSM
Eldar
Orks

Are Daemons 4th or 5th edition?

Daemons are 4th Edition:

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Codex

Right now Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Grey Knights, Tyranids, and Dark Eldar are in 5th Edition. Eldar, Orks, Daemons, CSM, Tau, Dark Angels, and Black Templars are 4th Edition. Witchunters and Necrons are still stuck in 3rd Edition amazingly enough.

Didn't the Nids codex come out between SW and BT? or was it IG? I don't even remember...I know we had a good year last year. And yes and no on the daemons codex. They were released during 4th, but clearly with 5th edition in mind-the army was unplayable in 4th due to the deep strike mishap table. Now that it's a lot more friendly, they're great. Kind of like how Skaven are for fantasy-released during 7th but definitely an 8th edition feeling army.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

We may soon find out that Sly Marbo is really Billy Crystal from 'analyze this' in diguise, sent to deal with Angrons immense rage. If too much for Billy to handle, we'll soon find out Marneus calgar is actually Jack Nicholson from the movie 'Anger management', and together they will teach him essential harnessing of ones emotions into positive things, such as finger painting and paper mache volcanoes.

That pretty much sums it up. I'm really looking forward to the SoB release with plastic kits.

Why wouldn't there be codices coming out? GW didn't decide to just pack up shop or anything.

Necrons and SoB have the two oldest, followed by Black Templars as the oldest 4th edition one. BT got an FAQ update though...

Chaos Space Marines
Chaos Daemons
Orks
