I was wondering if there was a book, downloadable ruleset, simple expansion, Imperial Armour release, or similar that allowed for building a 1500ish point Ork army that is entirely, or very nearly so, comprised of Deff Dreads, Killa Kans, and such. It doesn't have to be tournament legal, just something to play with my friends, but that is published in some fashion by GWS and so is theoretically balanced\costed correctly.

Thanks!

Imperial Armor: 8 has rules for a "Dread Mob" army, which allows you to field almost nothing but walkers (up to 35) in a single FOC.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

OK, I've got that book. So I could roll something like:

1 Mecha Dread as HQ (maybe 200pts or so)

2 deff dreads as troops (100 pts each)

2 squads of 3x Killa Kans as fast attack (about 150 pts each)

1 Stompa (lets say 750ish points)

and this would be a legal IA8 army?

No, you need to take a group of Mek boyz, led by a Mek, as one of your troop choices.

Lays it out very clearly in IA8. That is the closest to all walker you can get though!

OK, I still can't find this. Ive been looking for 15 minutes. Where is tthe Mek + Mekboyz requirement? pp127 has general info but no specifics.

Edit: nevermind. pp132, a dreadmob must have at least one spanner boyz mob.

If you have to take orkz anyway, you might aswell run a legal codex army:

Mega armour big mek
Mega armour big mek

Deff dread
Deff dread

3 Kanz
3 Kanz
3 Kanz

Cant capture or do alot else really, but its a walker army with 2 huge characters.

True dat. You can make a passable "walker only" army in the basic Ork codex. You won't be able to capture objectives, but hey, that's what victory by annihilation is for!

Ph34r, by running said list you will know such conditions well

About the only non-scoring army ive had luck with is pure DC thus far lol.

Not quite.
Stompas are still super heavies, and this cannot be used in regular games (though by RAW, Mekboss Buzzgob can bring one to any game, but that's silly)

Maximum amount of walkers in a dreadmob:

HQ:
Meka Dread (best with KFF)
Meka Dread (best with KFF)

Elite:
no walkers here... can bring burnaz in trukks or mekboy junkas though

Troops:
Spanna Boyz /w Mek and trukk
3 Deff Dreads
3 Deff Dreads
3 Deff Dreads
3 Deff Dreads
3 Deff Dreads

Fast Attack
5 Killa Kanz
5 Killa Kanz
5 Killa Kanz

Heavy Support:
Mega Dread
Mega Dread
Mega Dread

Totals to about 3500 points
So basicly a kan wall in front of a deff dread wall in front of a mega dread wall in front of a trukk of boyz

You can also use mega and meka dreads as heavy support in any Codex: Ork army, though that would decrease the number of kanz you can field.

I'm not over much concerned with being competitive or whatever, it's just a fun theme. The list of models I posted earlier are ones I already own. My new goal will be:

1 Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun
20 Ork Spanna Boyz
2x deff dreads as troops
3x Kans
3x Kans
Stompa

I already have the IA8 book and a stompa which is still in the box. I am hellbent on finally using it.

Thank you all for the advice and clarifications, as always.
