Hello this is my 1750 blood angels tournement army and everything in my entire army lights up with leds! even my basic troop!

you did a good job with the LEDs I particularly like the dreds when they light up.

How well do the Spacemarine stay up with the raised base?

Its cool I think you should have done a red light on the interior of the storm raven then the plasma cannon should be blue IMHO

yeah the assualt troops are super stable the clay i made there bases out of is heavy for the models so there really well balanced i dont really have a problem with any of them falling over

Very cool. I love seeing stuff like this. You cannot really play 40k in the dark but it would be cool to play with the lights dimmed down a bit. Reminds me of that daemon army that had all those leds.

it was a major pain to be honest haha its a ton of drilling and manual labour and without the processor and programming skills the best you can do is turn on the lights and then just turn them off no special effects of anything. and when i was drilling the models since i had to drill out the eyes then the head then backpack body and legs lets just say i ruined about 1/4 of the models that i made so they where un repairable haha you drill to deep or to far and poof there goes the whole head or the leg or no chest haha. Thats also why you dont really see to many people doing this and if it is its just a light that turns on and off no fancy effects like i have

easiest way to do this is in batches, measure how deep you need the hole to be then wrap tape around your drillbit at that depth so you are sure to only go that deep

Agreed, I'd love to see a tutorial. I probably wouldn't tackle all the rank and file, but maybe an HQ or two. Of course screwing up chaplain heads might be a bit more pricey!

Wow, super-impressed! The varying-timing lights add an element that I never could have appreciated until actually seeing them. I don't even want to know how many man-hours you have wrapped up in this - I hope you reap your rewards if you do put it up for sale but I'm afraid this must be a labor of love.

Only thing that really stands out for criticism is the lettering, but I suppose that's easily painted over and redone.

@white ninja to be honest ive been playing my blood angels for about 15 years now haha i would actually dare to say im fairly good with them. I do a really hardcore blitzkrieg with them my enitre army is less that a 1 away from your army in turn one haha. works really well and since i use so much armor in the field and everything i have is built to dominate in cc there is only a few armies that give me some trouble. Like the bird demon prince combo sorta a pain but then i just dump every shot i have into the bird til hes gone then the princes are toast... my major weakness is to things... limited models on the field.. (but everything is kick but and hard to kill) and my terrible terrible dice rolls! haha i have the worst luck! 45 attacks with reroll hit and miss and only need 3 to wound 3 to hit and ill usually only make 25 of the 45 typically.. ugh haha.sorta sucks to be honest people pretty much just wont play me anymore becuase my armies soo fast and cheesy tough to kill it does well in tournaments for a reason

@1-up thank you man yeah to be honest im not the best with lettering i free hand with a 1/100 paint brush and these are my older models im selling them becuase i replaced them with better painted newer and regular based models! haha so all these huge bases are not on my new ones my 4.0 series use reg bases on everything and look like reg really nicely converted and painted models and then bam.... they light up the same way as these haha.

Do you have any issues with the army, in regards to tournaments, considering the models appear to be twice their actual size?

@naravus thank you man, No the pictures make it look larger than they really are there actually only 1 inch bases in height and the model is a 4 inch model so there really now that much bigger and i dont really gain or lose los in tournaments. and since all my guns are super short range like 6 or 12 inches no one ever really agues to say i have a advantage... sometimes the reverse happens where they can be shot at where if they where on normal bases they would not be but thats only like 1 out of every 30 games or so so no big deal. That and when that happens there in ruins so if they hit me with anything big i can go to ground and have a 3+ cover save so im not really concerned about it to be honest

The death company have about a inch and quarter bases but they never get out of the transport til there going to assault so i never have a problem with them and with feel no pain and a librarian to always give them a cover save its really no big deal to be honest.

I love the idea and I appreciate the work put in to making this happen. The drilling, positioning, wiring... great job. I do have 3 criticisms, though.

1) The bases are terrible. They ruin the entire miniature. An otherwise nice paintjob and neat LED feature is totally ruined by a misshapen, 4 foot tall ugly-arsed base.

2) Why would you wire the LEDs on the models to only light up when the button is pressed and held? That's just dumb. Why not a toggle, so that you can have the whole army lit at once? Not to mention, lit while they are standing on their own...

3) Why put blinking LEDs in the infantry's helmets? It gives the appearance of them rapidly and continuously blinking their eyes.

So, I'm totally gonna jump on the fanboy bandwagon for the work put in and the successful completion of the whole project. Unfortunately, I am shoved right back off by the awful aesthetic of the bases and the poor execution and concept.

@ghidorah yeah the bases are unavoidable like i said before becuase i use the circuit board and cpu so still working on something to replace that however i think you misheard my videos becuase the lights DO say on the flashing while holding the button down is to show that the button is being pressed and once release it either turns on the lights or turns them off. you dont have to hold down the buttons to keep them turned on or something like that thats just my way of making sure people know the button is being pressed and you know its will turn on or off when you let go of the button. The Blinking leds in the helmets is to show them sorta of scanning or showing warning signs that there are enemies present the same way if you where wearing the helmet you would see a flashing signal waying where the targets are and it also isnt as boring as simply on and off.

Now, it's just the bases that I dislike. They really do detract from the model. It's too bad there's no other way... Still not a fan of the blinking eyes, either. While I'm not buying your explanation about the scanners, you do have an explanation, and that's good enough for me.

Do you honestly think that wiring a tank (which is TOTALLY easy to do) and adding a tabletop-worthy paintjob makes it worth $150-$450?
Sure, I can see the difficulty in wiring an infantry model, since most of the area the wiring travels through must be hollowed out, but a Marine vehicle? Can you ask for a more boxy, hallow, roomy model kit to put wiring in? Even Dreads are easy to wire. I, myself, have wired engines and guns on 2 Falcon Grav tanks. That was difficult. I had to make some large modifications to the inner hull and had to re-sculpt a new Pulse Laser. I have even wired a Monolith with lights AND a sound module to give it a droning 'thrummmmm' sound on the table. Another guy on Dakka years ago made a missile launcher dread that had LEDs for missile warheads that would blink in sequence. Some other dude wired an entire Necron army and he didn't need to alter bases like you did.

If I were the only bidder on each of your auctions and only bid the minimum, I would be paying $1,000.00 for 1750 pts of LEDs w/ stupid bases and beginner's paint jobs.
If I were try to beat the throngs of bidders to your "magnificent deals" and used the 'Buy It Now' option, this army would cost me ... FIVE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!

tayloeage: this is the problem with selling your labours of love. Your own models are always going to be worth more to you than to others. They don't see the 2 months you've put into your Stormraven, just the price tag. Why is it you're selling in the first place? Just a little cash deficiency?

@ghidorah mm nothing like a goood old flame post in the morning and when you look at the cost thats not that expensive at all especially since the average cost for a good paint job commision is 3 times whatever the model cost + the cost of the model and for 10 assault troops thats 70 dollars times 3 thats 280 just for a paint job i think think its unreasonable to tag a 100 bucks on there for a regular cost and thats the ... buy it now price not the pay this price or your not getting it i have a reserve set for 300 which is just barely above a commission paint job and the dread noughts ... are FORGE WORLD .... there 85 bucks for the model it self. i understand if your not interested in buying a product but theres abosolutely no reason to be rude about it. again since you i guess couldnt read the other 6 times i mentioned it on here other models that are infantry dont " blink" as you so basically put it.. this isnt just they blink theres 12 patterned they randomly select and you cant just hook up a wire and a battery and make that happen so i challenge you to actually prove what your posting instead of just bashing on products becuase you cant do it yourself...... mmm good old tasty logic..... i bet youll be replying with more hate in just a few minutes.. im not here to argue and if your not interested please just move on theres abosolutely no reason to be rude....
