You should totally keep track of which branch does the best. Air Force FTW!

Interesting Idea but what I think the civilians would have a edge though.

What makes you think that being a civilian would give you any extra sort of advantage? That is just as ludicrous as saying because I was a mechanic in the air force or a sonar operator in the navy, I would have an edge.

Sign me up. I am ex-Army.

EDIT: It would be interesting to have team scoring of some sort. (i.e. add up and then average out all of the scores by branch: ARMY, squids, jarheads, zoomies, puddle jumpers, and civilians)

Of course you would have an edge. EVERYONE KNOWS that the military gives you super powers.

Looks like a fun idea. Wish I could go. Best of luck.

My meaning of the edge was because at least from the players that I know well very few are ex-military. Not saying that makes them better just that they would out number any one branch. I am working on an idea for some special award for this event just not quit sure what I'm going to do yet. Lol I still have a little time before I need to have it all finalized.

Exactly! Thanks to them, I have the ability to stand straight as a rod for hours on end with out falling out, no need to use my bladder and my hospital corners makes nurses red with envy. Lets see a civilian do any of that!

Well, I can only speak for the Army, but I never received any sort of training on interstellar, space warfare. They might cover this in the navy. Not really sure.

....no, but unless you were branched non combat arms (read: Civilian in training), then you should have learned things that give you a superior edge on the tabletop. Read FM 7-8 and tell me that you don't recognize the parallels between succeeding in 40k and winning a firefight.

If only I had gas money fr the trip I's a 2 hour drive for me :(

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

depending on where you are coming from you might be able to find a ride for future events. I normally have people coming from Dayton, Cleveland and Cinncy. Heck the Hobby events I get people from Michigan and West Virginia. Congratz though Green this will be my first event with someone from PA.

Mission 2
Spearhead

Each player will roll a die with the highest roll choosing to deploy first or second. Whoever deploys first may choose a quarter with their opponent deploying after in the opposite corner. The player that deploys first goes first.
Capture and control

2 objectives 1 in the center of each none deployment Quarters.
*The objectives are Virus Bombs that didn’t explode but are slowly leaking.

You commanders have sent you to capture these before the enemy can gather them.

*The Virus has leaked out in a small area around the bomb casing. In a 6” radius around the bomb all non open topped vehicles move as normal, all infantry and open top vehicles treat the area as dangerous terrain! Further more units in the effected area must make a dangerous terrain check at the begining of the movement phase even if they choose not to move.

Note that any vehicles that have suffered damage have had their hull integrity breached and will have to now test as well. In the case of rhinos that were immbolized fixing themselves. Once fixed they are fixed and need not test again until redamaged.

Each objective controlled count as the following.
Each objective is worth 300VPs.
Random game length starting turn 6 on turn 7 will only continue on a 4+
Reserves
Deepstrike
Infiltrate/scout
Seize the initiative
To win you must score 750vps more than your opponent. Any less then that is a draw.

A question was brought up about dangerous terrain and how it's done. So here is for everyone and how I am judging it. You have to roll for each model that is in the dangerous terrain. so point at a model or work left to right what ever you like. As for multiwound models this is a rare case where you won't remove whole models as each one may roll a ankle or twist their knee as they move through the terrain.

any further questions please feel free to ask. Often questions you guys think of are do to my poor wording or from something I have never thought about.
