Hello there!

I am thinking of making some Loyalist Marine Autocannon Devastators for a few friendly games, (my friends don't mind, I have checked with them) and also to see how well I can convert some. But I am unsure of how to go about modelling them.

I kind of want them to be held similarly to the way Chaos Havocs hold them, but with two barrels, like the Chaos Terminator Autocannons. I would prefer these criteria to be kept to if possible.

Thanks, I know you guys can come up with really good stuff.

I guess you could start from the standard heavy bolter, but trim off the main identifying feature (i.e the barrel) and relace with 2 AC barrels. There should just about be room if you trim away the recoil dampers.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Try using Devestator Heavy Bolter Marines with the Autocannons held instead, in the same pose.

The problem with those is I don't know where to get my Autocannon bitz either, do I use the favourite Imperial Guard Heavy Weapons Team ones?

The warstore sells the bitz for three Cadian HW autocannons for 8 bucks. I've been thinking about picking some up for dreadnaughts and/or predators. By making them double-barrel, it'll start to get pricier. I'd be tempted to look at plastic tubing for the second barrel, or at least for some of the barrels (to keep things consistent within each weapon)

**Edited to clarify which autocannons**

Use the plastic sentinel ones, they are smaller, and far better looking on marines, rather than the larger HWT autocannons.

you could jut get some plastic rod from a hobby shop to make the barrels, and a heavy bolter marine sounds like a good base. Back in 2nd ed marines could take autocannons but there was no model. I made one up (and bear in mind these were old style devestators with the weapon held on their shoulder) from some Ork heavy weapon, with an Ork boltgun magazine sticking out the top (they were bigger and boxier looking than the marine parts) and the barrel was actually a landing gear leg from a model jet

Someone on What's New did an Imperial Fist with Autocannons. It's literally just a Heavy Bolter with an Autocannon barrel. It works.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

After seeing some Chaos Terminators in the shop, I noticed the autocannons on them seem like the right sort if size, and there are very few, if any Chaos icons on the barrels themselves. Almost perfect.

Yeah, but there's only one Havoc autocannon per box, and it's a fairly expensive bit to buy online. I don't think there's actually enough room to attractively hold a double barreled autocannon on a Marine. I'd go for the Sentinel autocannon barrel on a heavy bolter body as has been suggested.
