Me, a few months ago. I'm kind of blocking it, but behind me on the right is my favorite piece of nerd swag, a wall scroll of the main characters of Case Closed (Detective Conan in Japan).



Here's me fairly recently, holding my dog Bandit on my lap as I lay on the couch. My other dog (Gizmo) is off to my right, out of the frame.



This is the picture I currently use as my cell phone's wallpaper. About a month ago or so, I got obsessed with the Phoenix Wright series of games, so this is me performing a Phoenix Wright "Objection!". (Oh, and right below my arm is the poster of the four Dawn of War II races that I got for buying a CD copy of the game. Go me.)

Me not far from Jigoku-dani, half a mountain away from Nagano Japan. Bathing monkeys, considering I slogged through 4 feet of snow up a trail to get there, I was wishing I was in the water too.

Drunken dare? Just kidding. I lived in Asia for about 7 years, 3 of which were in Japan. Saw a special on discover or something about the monkeys and though "heck I have a few days off" (it was winter break at the time and I was teaching at a high school). Grabbed a buddy and we jumped on a bullet train to nagano.

Getting there was almost more of an adventure than seeing the monkeys.
It took:
1 bullet train
1 city subway ride
1 country train ride
1 bus ride
1 ski-lift ride
1 45 minute hike down a mountain, into a valley, and half-way up another mountain.

Finally got there, thus the tired WTF look on my face.

Me last 4th of July.

So I stumble in from getting my MCMAP Gray Belt, hop on Dakka, and there's a "post a pic of yourself!" thread. Fair enough...

That was ni 2008, when the QOTPA did our "Orange Box Week", which made me happy as a happy thing (as you can see!)

And although I may look quite chipper, but I am more Black Metal than you :p mwahahaha!

That's an awesome pic, DLS. Your youthful sense of wonder shines through, indeed overpowers, this ostensible Black Metal business you insist upon. (Don't tell him, but when I first watched the qotpa intro, I though Kenny was a tomboyish lass.)
