Looks really nice Dee. I'd say add little bits of color to make it jump, but I know you're going for the special ops look.

Like on the weapons what would you do?

Its still a game of dis-belief. I'd do the weapons black and highlight your grey color. Add some gunmetal to the barrels ect and add some red or blue to the Tau symbol on the gun.. things like that.

Nothing wrong with your version. I'm just not into ultra -realism.

How about a watered down black ink wash?

I'm with sl, I like what you're doing but needs sharper contrasts maybe? possibly even take up the highlights, especially on the flesh. nice scheme though!

As i was moving a shelving unit by myself my legs gave way and the head on my marine medic went someplace other....

I spent some time looking for it so now im going to use a head from my Ravenwing box as replacement.

Cracks in the back of the knees and fisures in the cartalidge so in im fracked.

As for the tau...I like the fluffy idea to make a SPEC ops version of these... But atm I am not thinking you nailed the look down good. Don't get me wrong, they do look good, but the idea of SPEC ops still isn't pressed on me hard enough...tho I can't say what really would be needed...maybe a very subtle camo? Just black stripes???...and more details picked out too!

As for the Tau. I like the spec ops look , but in a game of makebelieve I think you can pick out a few details a get away with some bolder colors. green, red or blue ( scopes, switches, cables ect )

All said it's your look and do them how you want them to look. I think if your happy with them it's all good for me!

If it wasn't for the red dot on the front of the skimmer I'd say put it on a solid white background, take a picture of it and send it to GW. Tell them you free handed the drawing and want to know I they are hiring. That is a beautiful work of art, looks like a study of shading in charcoal.

I think both pieces are coming along very nicely Dee. The red light on the front of the Tau vehicle looks like it's glowing... did you use OSL techniques on it?

I like it! Much more realistic than most OSL. People tend to forget that light doesn't bend around corners when they're doing OSL effects...
