Odd - I would have expected the million dollar goal to be a little more grand.

Though I do love me some pirates.

I think the 1.2 million dollar goal is the big grand one - I recall one of the reaper folks saying something to the effect that that is the one they would most like to see.

I think it has more to do with their map than with actual numbers. The first map had a mausoleum which ended at $525K. The second map ends with a pile of gold and a treasure chest (two goals away...so probably $1.14 million). Then we move down into the caves of map three.

Still, this one is pretty good. Cthulhu fans have some Deep ones and...well, you have the pirates.

I hope it isn't $1.2 million - that would put the next two goals at $100K each (or some combination there of). Unless it is something like all the remaining dragons...or a bunch of Warlord starter sets - that would be excruciating.

I'm glad I joined this Kickstarter, mostly for the dirt cheap cases (I'm getting either 3 or 4!), but as the stretch goals stack up, I'm getting less and less enthusiastic. I'm not sure I need a zombie-fighting pimp or a sexy pirate...

Now showing undead Dwarfs, Ghosts, and Trolls for Dungeon Saga!

Painting total as of 1st August 2025: 108 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

What about Pirate fighting pimps and sexy zombies?

Seriously though, Reaper is looking to grow the whole catalog. As with any full line company (not too many of them left) there will be a lot of stuff that appeals to some people and some stuff that appeals to a lot of people.

Luckily, at these prices, you can afford to have a few (even a few dozen) figures which are not quite what you are after. However, part of getting there from here does require releasing some thing which are appealing to different groups. Gets everyone on board as opposed to something like the Dwarven Adventurers campaign which had a good chunk of people very happy with their selection. Here you have a much larger chunk of people who are very happy with some of it - and are meh about other parts.

Even if you take out the meh - you are probably still down around $1 per figure or better.

Um, dude. They're just piling on more stuff for free. If you're not a fan of the extra, free models, just give them away. You get warm fuzzies and also get rid of Shaft, some kid at your local FLGS gets some free minis. Everyone wins!

Oh, I'm not really complaining. There are piles and piles of awesome stuff in the Vampire deal, and I'm actually having a hard time deciding between all the awesome extras. Who knows, maybe I'll even find a use for the zombie fighters. I'm just hoping the $1mil goal is suitably awesome, I guess.

Wow. Man, if I still played RPGs, I would go Vampire with all the extras without a second thought. Sadly I have no use for most of these.

The clockwork dragon does have potential as a custom C'tan, though.

No worries. Actually, I'd imagine the zombies to be one of the easier things you could trade out to another person. There's both the current popularity of zombies, and also the fact that if you're using them, you tend to have a use for a lot of them.

The sheer number of models in this is getting mental now. I have no need for most of these but it's sooooo tempting

Reduced my RK to 110 down from 270 and threw the difference into this. I'll use em for warhammer counts as stuff. Anyone know what gamebooks i should get to use these models? I've heard some already have game systems and this kickstarter has convinced me to support that aspect of reaper as well?

No idea, they won't comment (and had even hinted that Pathfinder would not appear, but they did)

6 days to find out

Oh and it just passed the Sedition Wars total

Reaper has a fantasy skirmish game called Warlord. It has two rulebooks out though you do not require both to play. Armies are well balanced. It is a lot of fun to play. Simple easy to learn mechanics but don't think that means the game lacks depth. most rolls are a d10 + ability score and then compared to a target number. different model abilities and faction abilities keep armies feeling unique. And for the last little bit of awesome, Reaper provides a free online army creator at http://www.reapergames.com/warlord.php?display=ArmyCreator

For $20 for the first rulebook you can't go wrong giving the game a try.

Note that Reaper is 25mm and, while also heroic, often not quite so much as GW's 28mm heroic. Also flat, integrated bases. The regular guys will need to be "up-sized" through creative basing, etc.. ,to work with GW.

Monsters probably less.

Not so much actually.

They are heroic 28s - at least anything from the past 10 years or so. The older stuff (Dungeon Dwellers and Early DHL) were 25 mm. Height wise - they match up just fine. A lot of their miniatures are more realistically proportioned though, less heroic I guess you could say...I prefer to say they lack clown shoes and base ball mitts. The vast majority of the stuff in this are newer items, with the exception of a few classic monsters.

Regarding the gamebooks - Warlord is their game, it is a skirmish type game though as opposed to massed combat. Pretty good overall. We may end up seeing it make an appearance yet in this drive too though (no reason to think as much - however at this point no reason not to think as much). They also are used by a lot of people who play games like Song of Blades in 28 mm and other independent wargames (Wargames Vault should give you a few ideas).

I'm from the future. The future of space

I wonder whether or not it'll go parabolic in the last few days.

Like the Mantic Kings of War one:

Or the Sedition Wars one:

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

All indications are yes, if you look at the various threads in various forums, there are a lot of people who are waiting till Friday to get in. As the rewards become even more insane, you will have a lot of people who have so far chosen not to get in get in. Also, there is a certain aspect of some people wanting to be part of something big - that causes a lot of people to break in the final hours when they see it build up. And of course, there are even some who are figuring that they will be able to make bank on eBay (which they likely should be able to make a profit...as long as not too many people decide to follow suit).

The only thing I am not too sure about though is that if you actually look at the chart for bones now:

http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/1513061270/reaper-miniatures-bones-an-evolution-of-gaming-min/#chart-exp-trend

It is already climbing insanely fast. Will it level off a bit than jump back up, will it continue at this rate, will it climb even faster at the end of the week?

Oh yah, and the $1,000,000 goal should be hit in about 3 hours.

The sink.

I'm a little confused as to how the extra add-ons work. If I back at Vampire level and I want to get a bunch of the extra add-ons, how do I go about doing that?

Just add up the prices and you'll have your total, which you then change your total pledge to under "manage your pledge" in the right hand bar, near the pledge total etc.
Reaper will then send out a survey after the project ends in whichyou indicate exactly what you pledged for.
Has to do with the limitations of kickstarter.
