Ok. Is it possible to pledge for Vampire and Liche level?

Yes. Any unlimited(=not crown jewel) pledge levels can be added to a single pledge. You simply add the $110 for liche to your vampire-level pledge - then fill out the undoubtedly extensive survey at the end.

Watch out with shipping: on undertaker, and any upgrade of a single type you get 5 or more of (so five different add-ons is fine, five times, say, deathsleet is not) you pay extra shipping.
If not, you only pay the highest shipping rate once ( so that's $25 for either liche or vampire); if you already pay that then you do not, for example, have to add $5 for shipping for a case; unless you get more than 4.

There's actually a few Warlord figs in the set already, although they've been given the broccoli bases instead of slotta base tabs.

The stuff cuts so easily, I've had no problems removing the cast on bases with my sprue cutters and then cleaning up with a hobby knife.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Same, if anyone in Minnesota is already pledging on this I wouldn't mind piggy backing a few of the add-ons for some painting goodness. PM me if there is someone out there willing to go this route.

It is getting harder and harder to resist backing this kickstarter at the $100 level (and I will have to spend at least $107 because I will have to get the deep ones if I back it). I have recently started playing D&D so I would have a use for most of the miniatures I don't just want for painting, but there are just too many miniatures to paint at this point!

Out of curiosity, anyone know how many miniatures come with the $100 level at this point?

Same here, only in the Massachusetts area - or really, anyone in the USA that wouldn't mind me adding in to get some of the giants and maybe the clockwork dragon.

PM me if you can help out - thanks!

They are heroic / 28mm for the most part.

The kickstarter has hit boingboing, should be popping up other places now that it hit a million dollars: http://boingboing.net/2012/08/20/rpg-miniatures-kickstarter-hit.html

They are the same size as Descent figures but noticibly different in style and proportions. The monsters should be ok though.

Cheers, will have to think this one over, might be a great way to get spares, new heroes, and monsters to fudge in via the Descent conversion kit, even though I have none of the 1st edition boxes.

I was thinking about using them for Descent as well. What is the conversion kit? Will it allow me to make stat cards for new heroes or monsters? How is 2nd edition different from 1st?

Note sure as I didn't own first edition. The conversion kit is a box you can buy that has cards and the bits and bobs you need to use all your 1st edition stuff in 2nd edition.

I'd need to check as I am assuming that would mean new versions of the hero cards, all the equipment and the monster rules cards as I believe there was a change to the rules systems between editions, not sure the 1st ed stuff is applicable.

If I am right and it does, I can fudge the models used to represent absent heroes, and use counts as for monsters, or even pick up other reaper equivalents as time passes.

Reapers Warlord does cover alot of these models, but not all. You're best bet is with a "Generic" game system that allows you to stat any miniature for the game regardless of who makes it. With the current selection of figs being so varied, you're also best off going with a Warband size skirmish game that doesn't require ranks and ranks of figures.

My favorite game like this is Song of Blades and Heroes. You can see our club's current campaign for this game by going to the link in my sig. I've raved about the game often, but you can see my most recent explanation and gushings here:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/469514.page

Long story shot, it's dirt cheap, easy to learn, and really fast playing with a unique "gambling" activation mechanic that makes every choice count.

Also, consider the upcoming rulset "Fanticide". It's got a bit more crunch than SOng of Blades, but is reportedly also a very nice generic warband skirmish system.

It seems like they're slowing down the stretch goals. There's now 100K between them, but they aren't offering both free minis as well as additional purchase minis.

Anyone know why they're increasing the stretch goal levels and decreasing the goal rewards?

or it's starting to cost too much. I think they are trying to keep to a timeline, and the more rewards they add, the more it costs them to make sure all of that extra stuff is ready to ship by the promised deadline. I know they're also working on transfering production to texas, so with sufficient rewards, they're jus dangling enough stuff to get those couple extra dollars to get a texas factory set up sooner. It's clear kickstarter has exceeded their wildest expectations, I'm suspicious it's also exceeded their ability to handle the orders and order sizes.

Given a back catalog of somewhere around 4,000 SKUs - I don't think that will be happening anytime soon.

See the thread above - they did need to adjust the pledge goals upwards to deal with the increased cost of fulfillment (that is a lot of packing, shipping and general moving stuff about). They also have shifted some goals around - quite likely to stick to a schedule of some form (they have a partner, Piazo, now who they are probably going to coordinate an email blitz with in the next few days). They also were getting more than a few comments of people being overwhelmed by the various options - both the choices and the option costs.

I am not too worried about their ability to handle the orders though. Every time I have ever seen them do things, it is generally run well. I do think this is much bigger than they had expected it to get as well though. While they probably still do have a bunch of goals which are planned and ready to go, I have a feeling that some of them might have been pushed back so they can have a greater impact when they do come in.
