World Works Games http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/index.php is probably the biggest producer of paper terrain for 28mm tabletop games. They started with generic Fantasy Dungeons (all sold as pdf's) and now produce for SciFi (including an Alien Space Hulk), Horror and Pulp as well.

Today they released a new set for a Gothic City called "Necroblock", mainly for Pulp (Batman) but maybe usable for 40k as well. Download costs 4.50$.

Cool but still useless to anyone who can't steal ink at work.

The lack of surface komplexity kinda kills it.

looks cool and all but yeah.. The ink alone makes it more expensive than just buying non-paper terrain unfortunately.. I wish these paper companies would sell pre-printed cardboard cutouts or something

Indeed. Funny thing, a while ago there was a post on TGN about a company selling pre-printed foamcore buildings, which sounded like a really cool budget terrain idea, until you noticed that they were more expensive than Pegasus or even GW plastic buildings...

Yeah I figured as much which makes the whole premise a bit cost ineffective to me.. Why buy cheaper terrain if it costs more?

Same reason i dont like buying most of the terrain that comes from europe.. Its usually nice and simple but more expensive than GW stuff

Pegasus and GW sell prepainted buildings?
Anyway, this set is something special visually. I also like their Mars set. But I agree that paper models are not for everyone.

That building seems to have a big lack of detail compared to their other Sci-fi sets, the First Light space ship was saprisingly detailed for a paper model IMHO.

That building is basically built to be somewhat lacking in details. It's the first of a new line for them... more about it here:

"Introducing WorldWorksGames first release in the SwiftScenics terrain line. SwiftScenics allows gamers to quickly and easily build a variety of multistory structures to fill large sections of their game table in a very short time. Structures can be collapsed flat for storage or permanently mounted for static builds. Building props slot in and out of anchor points to create new looks with just a few simple items.

NECROBLOCK is a genre mashing setting which combines the aesthetics of steam-punk with Neogothic flair. Perfect for dark, distopian sci-fi, Victorian steampunk or even high fantasy! Add balconies for ideal snipping opportunities or Gargoyle perches for high-stakes cliff hangers!"

For $4.50 US for the set, it's a pretty good deal. If you want more detailed buildings, check out their TerrainLinX Urban Mayhem scenery...

Here another of their SwiftScenics (cheap, quick, collapsable but less detailed) release for 6.50$: Mayham Corporate:

I can verify this, i've got one at home, its painted resin with coloured pastic windows (that got warped due to heat but you cant have everything) and it looks pretty good and is about half the size of skull mountain.
