Are Dreadnoughts with Twin Linked Autocannons and Missile Launcher a viable weapons platform? GK's could allow it to shoot 3 Str 8 shots and reroll two of em if they miss...

GK would go full-on rifleman; 4 re-rollable S8 shots.

Most Nilla marines also use full on Riflemen although AC/ML still does a great job vs anything.

So wait, you figured out that autocannons with +1 strength are good, but you couldn't figure out that 2, twin linked, str 8 shots are better than 1 str 8 shot?

Seriously take 2 twin autocannons. How is that not painfully obvious? Why would you want a missile launcher?

The old hellfire dread gun isnt as useful any more with the amount of AV12 and under vehicles people use, a bunch of S7 shots works out nicely, especially if its twin linked (not to mention the free launchers you get from tacs or the amount of psycannons you can get with knights). I just kinda wish everyone could get mortis dreads. Imagine the fun to be had with x2 psycannon dreads!

Lol. This thread made me laugh. Some choices really are a no-brainer. Why take 1 S8 shot when you can get 2 re-rollable S8 shots for the same price?

Guess it's the same reason why we give 3 meltas to our acolyte warriors instead of 3 combi-meltas.

Thanks for that slap to the face. Somehow i overlooked that you could take em on both arms... Although the Missile Launcher gives it some anti-infantry...

If you're going against a person paranoid about blasts, chances are you wont get too many people under the small circle (it has a radius of 1.5", you need 2" to be in coherency)

With the auto, you will also pump out x4 TL shots that can instant kill marines

Sorry about that, but it really did brighten up my day. Really, the only advantage of the ML will be to deny normal MEQ's and tyranid monstrous creatures their armor saves.
