Why does every single unit in the empire army have a codpiece? Is there some backround for this?

Just google pics of Renassaince costume and you will get a good idea that it was de rigeur for a chap to have a codpiece.

Who wouldn't protect their bollocks during a scrap? Especially when it's at eye level for goblins!

Basically, Empire is inspired by Germany around 1500, where codpieces were common.

yes, there is a reason the Gnoblar unit Champions are called Groinbiters.

and it was extreamly fashionable during the 14-1600s to wear codpieces. some even had phallic potrusions.

Historicaly codpieces were more about easy access for urination as they were found on civvy clothes (cod was a medieval term for penis). Obviously in combat an armoured codpeice is invaluable in maintaining your family line .

Forget tights. This season it's all about the dual coloured hoes with huge codpieces and Space Marine sized sholderpads. I'm telling you its bang on trend .
