Hi, im new to WoC, and have not played in 8th Edition.
I am planning on taking 2400pts to Throne of Skulls in the winter, and have arranged to lend my O&G army to somebody, leaving me no choice but to get the warriors done but i need help.
i dont need to win, but i want to stand a chance in each game, and i know list building makes a massive difference.
Any ideas on the strength of this list, any weak areas
I dont play warriors of chaos, but I have played against them (Empire for me). The list at the moment is good, but if you come across an gunline army, they are going to laugh at you general lack of protection (4+ Save, we laugh at it, Ohohohohoho), unless Nurgle gives you a regen save... in which case DAAAYYYYYYMMMMMMMM!!!!!
Whats the plan for your army, or is it charge until either you or the opponet is dead (which is admittedly effective with WoC...)

Im new to chaos too but here is some things I have learned been told and found out for myself.
Mon is not really worth it sadly its in the errata.
Mot and mok is what I use for mine mot for the ward and mok for knights because they are killy and fun.
Get the hero tali of preservation or endurance to keep him alive maybe a bitting blade or sword of might to get a few spare points since he is with the knights they will kill more than enough.maybe give a warrior block a rapturous standard to make em hold.
Banner or rage is kinda nasty with warriors that have shield and halberd.
Thats all I know haha wouldnt mind trying a daemon prince myself.

But why is MoN not worth it? Am i missing something?
Would marauders be any good with the spare points?
Not a massive hellcannon fan but everyone is seeming to use them. Whats so great about them, as im a big fan of the giant?

where the heck is your BSB? it is almost a mandatory choice at 2K+
Your daemon prince is really a sub par lord choice, a sorc lord on disc would be a better caster/dispeller for about the same points
two tzeentch casters is probably too many, take the lvl 2 as death and hope for the hex spell and/or doom and darkness
I don't think you have to change so much to have a fun, functional, not-quite-totally-boring warriors list. I do think some things deserve addressing though:
1) Third eye on a level 1 DP works too well to turn down, at the least to throw dwellers back in Life toolbags' faces 2) Your jugger is quite susceptible to artillery fire at the moment (no LOS! roll); at the least spending his 5 points of equipment on a charmed shield or an ironcurse (if you feel lucky!) would make me feel better, though with the DP and the giant the other dude's war machines will be busy until the prince flips them over 3) No BSB really is startling, though warriors may be able to pull it off, since they reroll panic anyway and tend to win combats. Still, I'd rate a BSB over the backup caster. 4) Definitely beef up the tizz warriors and combine the ahw ones, perhaps give one the banner of flaming? Cheap and burns those regen bastards down 5) Reconsider your marks of nurgle - why are you taking them? Because of modeling awesomeness or fluffiness? They are quite subpar in game, due to costing so much for so little return: the number of small arms firing at 4+ armor warriors or 5+ armor ogres (vs naked giant!) is going to be low anyway (assuming the other guy has any!), so the only real benefit is when fighting against WS3 or 6 (for the warriors) or WS2 or 4 (for the ogres), since they'll hit you slightly less. Frankly, I'd swap both right over to khorne, making those meatgrinder units even more meatgrindery (and some ItP if you don't take a BSB).
And on the hellcannon, no way do you have to take one. IMO it's real benefit is that it's an incredibly cheap unbreakable monster, which should be started at the line and shoved forward with reckless abandon (if you shoot it, you have a better chance of killing it then the other guy often does!). The slaanesh giant is cool and a bear for people who need to kill it in combat, but it is indeed a big expensive toy unit, begging to be shot. 1 in 3 games it should get to rock some face though!

Thanks people. It seems you are all pretty down on the MoN, having re-read the 8th edition frenzy rule, i can see khorne not to be so risky as before, but even safer i presume with a BsB.
I am liking the suggested list tweaks thanks, i do not plan on modelling the marks, as i want them to be flexable in the future. I was planning on putting god symbols on a base next to the units for a reminder of the mark, and i wanted army to look unified.
Is it important that warrior units have a hero in them? Or can they do it on thier own? Because a character in each unit looks awesome.
I have found that the more warriors or bodies I have the better, so that means trying (and that is hard with WoC) to keep the Lords and heroes point levels down to a respectable number
Exalted Champs and Lords are real killy or real hard to kill but it the basic warriors and his buddies that will most likely win you the game

-1 to hit by range and -1 ws in combat is really good for marauders since they are cheap and have low AS
Errata now states MON is only -1 ws for models attacking you! doesn't count for your attacks back, which is a shame cos it made nurgle ogres quite tasty! it can be useful still on warriors, but really depends on what you are facing, for most games i prefer my 5+ parry from mk of tz!
Good build i saw on a chaos lord recently revolved around helm of many eyes and either the berserker sword or the common one that is +3A, so vs rank and file he has at least 8 s5 attacks hitting on 3s with rerolls from ASF. Does rely on you having a warshrine to enable unit champs to issue challenges inplace of the lord, but worked well when i saw it used.
WArriors are fun with mot and mok (mok with shields and halberds is fun )
Marauders havent run them in big enough groups to mark them I like the bulk of my army to be bulky angry chaos worshiping warriors
Nurgle magic is fun tho they waste a lot of dice to get rid of it when its caste same with some tz magic.
