I am not a huge fan of the way the Chaos Dreadnought looks, is it possible to field normal dreadnoughts with chaos emblems, spikey bits, etc? Just curious if this was alright or am I just an idiot for asking?

Hey man, I'd agree with you on this one, the old metal dread is dated to say the least, so I reckon its perfectly fine for you to use a regular plastic sm dread and chaosify it. Good luck with it!

I rarely see good conversions of loyalist dreads to Chaos ones though. They usually look pretty poorly done and still have obvious Imperial insignia on them.

AGreed. Get the FW ones, you can even get specific legion ones (go go World Eaters

You can chaos-ify normal dreads if you want, just be really thorough. Also, fluffwise, the chaos dreads are mostly from the heresy era which means they should all have the Mk IV setup with a head in place of a sarcophagus vision slit.

The FW dreads are best of course.

If your going to Chaosfy a Dread use the Loyalist Venerable. It's simmiler to the Forge World designs but you'd have to file of quite a lot of Imperial Symbols ,then replace them with Chaos Symbols.

Funny, the Venerable dread I ordered on Amazon just shipped today. I got my knives, files, and greenstuff waiting for this bad boy, not to mention the countless chaos bits as well...

Just go for the FW ones. They look better and are cheaper to boot (even with shipping).
