The topic title really says it all, but I'm wondering what are some good reads that have lots of Necron involvement? I just started "The Fall of Damnos" (like 2 chapters in), which I hear is great for Necron lovers. I think I have "Nightbringer" and that Word Bearers book lying around somewhere, but the problem is from the little I read of those, it's less about Necrons and more about the people who fight them. If a book just has Necrons as an enemy to get shot at I'm not too interested. Hopefully that doesn't rule out too many stories. Anyway what sugesstions do you guys have? P.S. Short stories, novels, and really any sort of literature is fine by me, they don't have to be full length novels. For example I'd consider the Necron bit in "Xenology" as worthy Necron reading material. P.P.S I hope this is the right forum, or would WH40K General Discussion be a better place?

You could try "dead men walking" but it's not from a necron p.o.v I'm afraid.

Ah that's the Krieg (or is it Kreig?) book right? I couldn't remember the name off the top of my head. I'll look into that one for sure. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also the book doesn't have to necessairly be from the Necron P.O.V. just that they have enough screen time (page time?) to be more than the punching bag of the protagonists.

The first Ultramarines novel, 'Nightbringer' has some very nice Necron and C'tan fluff in it, well worth a read if you're into it.

I might give "Nightbringer" another chance after I'm done with Damnos. It's just the whole premise is kind of silly. However, as a plus it does have some DE who are among my favourite factions.

Fall of Damnos and Dead Man Walking are the top two for Necron novels as far as I've been able to find. There is a new SoB book coming out that will feature them and they've got a brief story relating to them in the Victories of the Space Marines Anthologies collection.
Nightbringer, as you already have mentioned, has quite abit in there about our favorite faction and the Xenology book has some stuff in it...
Aside from these mentioned books though there isn't a terribly large amount on them though; here's a link to some official junk though you may have interest in http://www.blacklibrary.com/Home/Search-Results.html?filter_type=6&filter_Action=0&filter_name=SearchTerm&submit=GO&filter_value=necron
There's also a page on here somewhere that has every reference to Necron stuff ever, worth finding by far

The book HellForged is pretty good, its about the Soul Drinkers chapter but the enemy they face is the Necrons. There is tons of detailed action involving them and its neat to see them in such a spotlight.

I'm not particularly sympathetic for humanity...especially in the world of 40k.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I did indeed see the article with every bit of Necron fluff but it was a bit overwhelming. Seems like "Fall of Damnos", "Dead Men Walking", "Hellforged", The Word Bearers book ("Dark Creed/Apostle" I think), and "Nightbringer" are the best. I am really looking forward to the SOB one (is that called "Hammer and Anvil"?). It pits 2 of my favourite factions against each other; so no matter who wins I'll be happy! also thanks @Azure for the link Automatically Appended Next Post: Which short story, or stories, have Necrons in "Fear the Alien Anthologies"?
