Ohey thar!
I few things I just want to be 100% clear on. My
FLGS is pretty set in their views regarding these things, but these are the same guys that ruled me to let me hit skimmers with my Battlewagon, even if they successfully dodged >_>
Firstly: My Deff Dread has been immobilized (as is often the fate to befall the poor bloke - I love him anyway, though). Grot riggers repair the immobilized result during the shooting phase. However,
can the Deff Dread now assault during the assault phase if a target is within assault range?
Considering the wording of the codex pertaining to Grot Riggers, "The vehicle is able to start moving next turn" suggests no assault would be allowed - though my
FLGS has ruled that, since repair allows a previously destroyed weapon to fire in the same phase in which it was repaired, the Deff Dread would be allowed to assault after the shooting phase in which it was repaired.
Secondly: I'm still unclear about whether vehicles can take cover saves from bomb squigs. I'm not sure if it's a shooting attack, as firstly
RAW states:
A Tankbusta may release a Bomb-squig instead of shooting, and the bomb squig automatically hits (bypassing any
BS check). If it's NOT a shooting attack, is that enough to warrant no allowed cover save? (
INAT FAQ seems to come to the same conclusion, for what it's worth)
FLGS states that the ONLY non
CC abilities that can not have cover saves taken against them, are wargear that specifically sate as much, and templates. Are there any rules/
FAQ entries that counter this?
Ultimately, I'm mostly interested in the general consensus with players accustomed to the rules and/or Ork play.
FLGS has declared that vehicles get cover saves, so things are unlikely to change regardless, unless I find some pretty conclusive proof. I'm also not that bothered if they do get cover saves - but I'd not want to bypass an opportunity
And finally, one small thing I'm unsure about. If my battlewagon, filled with, say, burnas, rams into a vehicle, and goes no further... BUT it has not moved more than 6"... are the burnas inside free to fire out?
FLGS says yes, but I had assumed no.
Thanks for any help!
