Okay, so recently I realized that Haemys don't have fleet, so I can't run them forward with Wyches. poo.
That being said, I heard that it is allowed to make just the unit leave the Raider, leaving the Haemy inside it and allowing them to have both Fleet and the pain token.
Is there any restrictions to this? Tl;dr, Can I run it forward 12", disembark 2", leave him inside and fleet+assault?

Indeed

There's a lot of talk and rule references about IC's and troops leaving transports separately there.

Well idk about the giving the pain token to the wyches. Dont have a codex with me, but I think it does say you can divide the tokens.

I do this all the time with my Haemy's for WWP use. Fly up on turn 1, get the Haemy out leaving his pain token to the whyces who rode with him, and drop the WWP, and sit back to snipe with his Hexrifle. That or if I infiltrated Mandrakes, I'll drop him off with his token so the 'Drakes can then shoot that turn (especially if the Whyches got a free token from drugs).
Rules say you divide the tokens evenly, then any extra you get to assign.

yes the only problem is if you roll a 6 on your combat drugs. Then you have 2 tokens for FC but if the haemi detaches then he has to take a token with him.

I don't wish to sidetrack the thread, but it seems the OP's question re: pain tokens has been answered.
Also the question about an IC disembarking, then transport moving, then unit disembarking from transport.
My question is in regards to who/whom from said combined unit may initiate the separation:
p. 48 "An independent character can leave a unit during the Movement phase by moving out of coherency distance with it."
So, all of you are saying that the Unit may initiate the separation? It is legal for, example, a Marine Chapter Master to stay put while the unit he was attached to moves away so that he does not count as moving and may therefor call in his Orbital Bombardment during the Shooting Phase?
I would love this to be the case, but the RAW seem to indicate that the IC must be the one who moves first. Is RAW in disfavor now? Genuinely interested, thanks....

yes, all that is required is the 2 units to be out of coherency with each other.

Scott - this is covered separately with ICs and vehicles. ICs are specifically allowed to exit the vehicle, leaving the squad behind, or vice versa.

@ Grey Templar - thank you
@ nosferatu1001 - understood about involving a vehicle, as I indicated in my first post.
Thanks
