It's ironic that the technology that allows us to view films/music has never been better, but the scarcity of original ideas has plummeted. Hence we are stuck with remakes, sequels and prequels. Personally, I blame George Lucas for starting the rot. Imagine what Orson Welles could have done with CGI and a 100 million dollar budget.
If there going to do a new apes film, why not remake Battle for the Planet of the apes. It's low bugdet, but it's one of those cheesy action films you can't help but like.

Exactly. They can't even get the freakin' story right! Not that the original made any sense

When i first saw Planet of the Apes i wondered what it would be like to really live in a world ruled by monkeys/apes, but then I realised, this film wasn't a fictional view of a possible future! It was a modern day documentory!
Seriously though, I'm looking forward to a sequal, and giving the present CGI we're capable of nowadays it should be an excellent movie provided they don't hash the storyline like they seem to do in sequals ... I'm looking at you Alien 2, Alien Resurection .. Aliens you were fine, you can stay

It looks pretty good, albiet I'm kinda sad it doesn't look like it follows the original story. Its also a tad bit dissapointing that its not really original. It still looks like a good movie, though.

What on Earth are you babbling on about? Everyone knows that there was only Alien and Aliens. What is this Alien 3 and Alien Resurection nonsense?
