Subject: Question about Killa Kan upgrades
|
 |
Frightening Flamer of Tzeentch
|
So I was looking at the upgrades for Killa Kans and I saw they have grot riggers and armor plates, but how do these help? Since Killa Kans are part of a squadron they always count as wrecked when they are immobilized so they wouldn't be able to use the grot riggers, and all crew stunned results count as crew shaken so armor plates seems to be useless too. Am I missing something? Or are these actually useless upgrades?

In a squadron they do nothing, per the 5th edition squadron rules. If a single killa can was on the field, or left, then it would be useful but most ork players don't get the upgrades for the killa cans as they view them as a waste of points for a single killa can to maybe live longer.

WHen the codex was released they had a point in squadrons, and if you buy a single kan it is NOT part of a squadron and so can more effectively use the upgrades.

Ork Admiral Kroozin Da Kosmos on Da Hulk

Bottom line: Not 100% useless, but still a waste of points.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

mostly a waste of points, however you can take them on one unit that way once 2 are wiped out then it reverts back to a sinngle vehicle and sudenly the armor plates and grot riggers can be relivant... still i'd only put them on if i literally had NO place to put the points
