Storm Raven is finished! I decided that this army will be based and modeled after a jungle theme. I want the Storm Raven to look as if it has been used in the jungle with a bunch of blood thirsty Space Marines at the helm!

This post will be extremely picture heavy so you are forewarned.

I was disappointed with this as well, I used extra bits from my DC sprue and turns out you can barely even see it.





I foresee this model having other death company units rappelling out into this jungle world... Hopefully I can figure out an easy way to make that happen. Bring on the comments!

Whitedwarf had a awesome flesh tearer one, dark red w/ black.
But on the subject, I like it, the only thing I think it needs it a highlight on its hard edges.

I really hope that pilot isn't afflicted with the Black Rage, otherwise its gonna be a real short trip if he spots enemies on the battlefield.

It's also an actual nice indicator of what the Stormraven might look like when it goes Chapter wide in the next Space Marine codex.

I would do hard lining but I like to keep my blacks black, i dislike the distraction that the hard lines create. Maybe i will do it for certain areas the light hits

And the only way I could warrant a full death company army is if the Blood Angel strike force had been fighting for so long that well either everyone got the black rage... or more sinister, the ones with the black rage wound up killing the rest of the strike force. So ya, the pilot does have black rage and with my other 2 storm ravens that will be in this army, it will be played that way (Zooom!!!! shoot the guns, and some ramming action!). Astorath is there to clean up the death company AFTER they have cleaned up the enemy unit. Im basing everything in a jungle style so my gf is calling it jungle fever.

for hard-lining just use a dark grey. It won't detract too much from your black but will allude to a highlight.

Hrm. Black Raged bomber pilots. The weathering is a bit rough in some places, could use some touch ups but otherwise solid paint job.

Thanks for the comments. The weathering is a bit rough I will admit. I actually primed grey and hand painted it all black, so by the time I got to the weathering section I didnt want to see a storm raven ever again. perhaps I will go back to it and touch it up. But on the other hand I just want it at or above tabletop level (which I think it is) so I might let it go.

As a sidenote: Did I do something wrong when I made my pilot DC? I mean they are angry but they still can pilot right?
