I fear I may be incorrect in the current amount of movement I've been allowing these units in my games with friends.
24" or 36"?
Once you move over 18" you obtain the "flat-out" save, correct?

Thanks
Is there anything in the game that can move over 24" in a single movement phase? Of is a fast/skimmer the only thing.

Grey Knights have equipment that lets some of their units make a 30" teleport move.
I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Certain Dark Eldar units get 36" on flat-out/turbo boost; their rules specify this.

I was more meaning like a regular move instead of the teleport shunt (which is nice, but expensive), interesting to know that some DE can move 36".
At least now I know not to let my opponents fly 36" a turn... and myself when I field a SR

DE:
Reaver jetbikes can turbo-boost 36".
Raiders and Ravagers can purchase a vehicle upgrade that allows them an extra 2d6" of movement in the movement phase in addition to their regular movement.
The Razorwing Jetfighter and Voidraven Bomber have a special rule that allows them to move 36" for their Flat-out move.

Star Engines are used in the Shooting phase, that means you move whatever distance in the movement phase, and then Move your further distance in the Shooting phase. It does not account for raw move speed in this discussion(it also cannot be used to get a higher str Ram, since that is done in the movement phase, and as such no rams can work in the shooting phase, when you would activate your star engines).

It's still moving over 24" in 1 turn, and that was the point being stated. It also still gains from Fast and skimmer in the movement phase anyway so what's your point.
And if you want to get into it
raw state in lieu of shooting it does not state which phase the extra movement happens. It could be seen as giving up shooting to move extra within the movement phase within raw.

Just to clarify, I was indeed just referring to the movement phase, not any additional movement effects during a scout/shooting phase.

yup and the Razorwing and Voidraven are listed as Supersonic(that is what the rule that lets them move 36" is called), that is traveling at the speed of bullets. Not many vehicles in the game look like they could break the sound barrier easily....

Oh, come on; that Floating brick known as the Storm raven looks like it could easily hit 90% Light speed, especially if it were to attempt such in a viscous fluid! That thing just screams Aerodynamic.

it isn't mean to be supersonic.
at the speeds a gunship travels at for fire support, Aerodynamic shape is fairly moot.
Semi-trucks don't exactly scream aerodynamism, but they do a decent job of it.
think of the Stormraven as a flying Semi filled with angry space marines

in the regime of a Semi-truck, the back end is actually more important than the from to reduce separation drag. Its completely flat and rather poor, which is why Semi's usually operate at low speed.
Aerodynamics on the storm raven would more be for control in re-entry into the atmosphere and for conserving fuel. The Imperium is rich so who cares about fuel and for re-entry you WANT to slow down. That is the whole point so I can see them being blunt. Doesnt mean they are gonna be fast.

in that veign, Stormravens have good back ends to reduce that back pressure.
they will have a low pressure zone if they arn't carrying a dred, but, again, they arn't operating at high speeds(for aircraft anyway)
they are described as being highly maneuverable, not swift. more for zigging around tall buildings, trees, and craggy rocks then booking it across a planets surface.
a Valk/Vendetta could probably attain higher top speeds, but a Stormraven is going to beat them in a firefight due to greater ability to avoid incoming fire and use terrain to its advantage.

In a universe that uses skimmer technology, the brick shape doesn't matter. It's an assault helicopter in purpose, which is awesome.
