Hey there, I am thinking of making a napoleonic steam punk army, does anyone know of any alternative sentinal models that could fit this?

There are the old metal sentinels from 2nd edition, which are far more steampunky. Other than that I'd check out armorcasts walkers.
The bummer is that sentinels just aren't that great, gamewise. A very fun unit to model though.

Are you sure that pre-industrial Napoleonic times, steampunk and SciFi fit together visually? It sure is a wide stretch.

your right, it could fail epically and just look like a historical army, or it could be wierd, wacky and unique (in a good way!). But in my mind it looks ok, power cables to each od the muskets (fed into their backpacks), servo skulls and target finders.

Right because a game in which hobbits with sniper rifles, Geiger's aliens,Romanesque super soliders and WWI-WWII tanks fight Anime ripp-offs and "orcs" with guns this is a stretch...

I'd imagine the napoleonic influence would be seen seen in colorful uniforms, the steam punk would show up in the equipment, and the Sci-fi means it's lasers...

Mine has a regular Cadian pilot, but you could easily steampunkify it more. In fact I'm pretty sure there is a miniature copany out there that does steampunk mechanical spiders.

Well, you could always go for some armored cars. It is the French, after all, who were pioneers of mechanized warfare with their use of taxicabs. Of course, this did happen about a century after Napoleon's final days, but I think it wouldn't be of any consequence after the inevitable flanderization of your source material to work with Warhammer. Still, it would be a major effort, due to the need of either converting existing vehicles, such as Ork Warbuggies, or building them from scratch.

Clang - ooo thats an idea. A wee bit pricey but for three we cannot complain!
Marcin - Dont think I havn't thought of that idea! It would be awesome but they would not be walkers. You could use vehicles as "count as" but it would not suit the "character" I want my sentinals to give to my army.

have you considered these:
With the demise of AT-43 these can be had for cheap on places like EBAY. I think you can get a unit box for $10 currently, etc.
Add some more rivets, boilers and pipes, some gears and such, whatever you want to "steam punk-ify" them, etc.
I think these with some riveted pipe/valves, etc. from the Imex Refinery kit would go a long way...

Yes AT-43 has been deep-sixed, so unless someone buys the rights and resurrects it...
And FYI: they come three models to a box, so that is $3.00 per model!!!
Here is a link to an auction on ebay that has (9) boxes of them for cheap:
http://cgi.ebay.com/AT-43-Red-Blok-Strielitz-Kolossus-Unit-Box-/310310331198?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item483fefe33e
Also if you do a search for " AT-43" on ebay you will find a ton of auctions with low prices for various AT-43 stuff including some bigger walkers, but I think these ones are more appropriately sized for sentinels...
I was thinking of buying some to convert for my Orks or sons IG, but haven't done so yet.
And to the potential peanut gallery: no this ISN'T my auction

If you're not adverse to going outside GW for them, you could look into Warmachine "Warjacks". Each faction has a slightly different look.

A Jameson Cyborg from "Ghost in the Shell" on steroids, nice! And it wouldn't be too complicated to construct on your own using plasticard sheets and some leftover sprue.

Nah, its too tall with a wide base. I know what it is its the Ironclad minis steam tanks. Its just too large (base wise) for a sentinal, but its awesome non the less! I do plan to use the steam tanks as my main tanks, very steampunk!

I have to say, that with a few bits of plastic tubing added here and there, that a sentinel painted up to look like black iron with bronze weapon mounts would look quite steam-punk as is.
I really like the idea of this, it's right up my alley. Think it's going to look the business. What minis are you planning to use for the rank and file? If you don't know about Perry miniatures (and I bet you do), they're an excellent place to start.

Well, I adore perry the detail is amazing and so is the value! However to use as a guard army the posability is lacking, most of the figures in Perry's line infantry box sets are in "march order" (muskets on the shoulder). Victrix however may not be as detailed but the posability is wonderful. I hope to be uising their Old Guard Chassuers and the 1804-1807 (Bicore hats ) as conscripts. I love the old guard as they have a Vostroyan/Steel legion feel to them.

With 60 figs to a box too I think victrix wins on the value side
