I was just wondering whether or not anyone was excited for it, or if anyone got early access through Bulletstorm and would like to share their experiences.

I've been playing it a bit.
I think it feels much better than GoW2, they really nailed the movement and aiming feel, faster too. The dedicated servers have really helped eliminate that terrible host advantage that plagued the first two.
The new multiplayer mode is fun, it definitely lasts quite a bit longer than the previous main mode, which was round-based. However, you can definitely feel like you are destined to lose a round once the lives remaining get too slanted. There isn't really any way to come back from having your respawns depleted, and the other team has like 10 left.
While I think the aesthetic has improved, they need to add some more maps. The Thrashball stadium is fun, but the interior of the grocery store is kinda meh. I know clustered, small maps are the way GoW plays the best, I just can't help but feel unimpressed by their scale... like, I don't get that epic feel that I get sometimes playing Halo/Reach, where the maps are huge and grand and crazy. But, that is a personal aesthetic choice, I'm sure there are a lot of people who prefer more realistic and constrained areas to fight in.
The weapon balance is better, the shotgun isn't the end all weapon, as rifles have definitely had their power kicked up several notches. Although, the new double-barreled shotgun feels like it leads to some pretty lame kills, as someone will roll up next to you, take one shot, and you are gibbed; this was possible with the old shotgun too, but didn't seem to happen as much.
Overall I am having fun, I am more of a Halo guy, but I certainly like Gears. However, I imagine I will probably play Space Marine more than both, since they are trying to mesh the parts of both into one awesome mix.

This!^^
It feels like playing the lottery when I'm wielding that sob. Either it blasts the opponents apart completely or it leaves them still standing so that they can take me with one shot from the weaker Gnasher. And when other people use the sawed-off on me it's the greatest weapon in history all of a sudden. That's about the only complaint I have about GoW 3 though. It already feels better than the other two games, mostly thanks to the dedicated servers (now do the same for Crysis 2, please ). The buttons are mapped a lot smarter this time around as well.

I really like it; the only thing I don't like is idiotic team-mates who CAN'T LANE FOR GAK!
And the Flamethrower is pretty much useless for a Power weapon....

Really? I've found it to be quite useful, it has nice range and can fry people pretty quickly. I've found through experience and observation that in the right hands, it is a deadly tool indeed.
I can confirm that the beta is incredible, all three game modes are superb, nothing is seriously broken, though they do need to nerf a few things just a little bit. Gnasher shotgun range and Hammerburst power are the two main ones that come to mind. The chainsaw registering is pretty crap sometimes too, as you'll be rolling away from quite a distance and still get chainsawed.

I'm a fan of the beta. It certainly seems like it's... faster than the previous gears games. All in all though, not a lot's changed, but that's to be expected.

Which rifle weapon do people prefer here?
Personally, I like the hammerburst the most as I find it does decent damage and I can quickly fire a lot of shots with it by rapidly hitting the right bumper.
I find that the regular lancer doesn't do a lot of damage. It can be intimidating with its big clip, thus letting you shoot continuously but one-on-one against a hammerburst, I find that the hammerburst always does better.
As for the retro lancer, I think I need more practice with it. From long distance, it is fairly weak but up close it can do quite a bit of damage. My only problem is that I try to impale people with it too much and end up running all over the place with it. Really ticks me off when I run at someone and bounce off of them with it. Got to learn to hit them square on.

The Lancer is the only one I don't prefer, I find it too weak to really do anything.
I much prefer the Retro Lancer for King of the Hill and Deathmatch. Its power at short range is most groovy, and while I rarely bayonet charge, it comes in handy. It is a truly deadly weapon in the right hands, you have to be smart though.
The Hammerburst is pretty awesome, I never play CTL without it. Its range, accuracy, and iron sights are just incredible.
Another question is Gnasher or Sawed off?

I hate the shotguns, for the most part.
It's kind of obnoxiously overpowered and that bothers me.
I am loving the Oneshot however. If that thing does not have its own campaign level, I will be furious.

LOL, an entire chapter with the Oneshot would be kind of nice if it's not too long. I love the tactical advantage it provides in CTL on Trenches. That laser beam works well as a deterrent and people think twice before running together in groups. A bit too easy to use imho, but fun enough.
As for rifles, I like the Retro Lancer (insane at close range with great stopping power and a nice bayonet charge) and the Hammerburst (good at range and has a really cool finishing move ). Lancer has it's uses, like laying down blind support for several seconds, while still being fairly precise. The chainsaw is fun, but it's a risky move using it. You're slow, noisy and a sitting duck when sawing through your enemy. The HB feels the least try-hard, so I usually go with that one.
The Gnasher needs some fixing. I feel the Sawed-Off is fine (had some issues previously with it though). It only works at extremely short ranges and has a looong reload time. Nicely balanced. The Gnasher however can ruin games sometimes, depending on who's wielding it. I have been downed and one-shotted from ridiculous distances with that PoS (from distances where I only injure them slightly, even with a perfect reload with the exact same weapon). You have a lot of shots in the mag, reloading is quick and there's practically no penalty to moving and jumping around like you're spazzing out. As a matter of fact, you actually benefit from playing like that.

R.Lancer is truely the best rifle, in my humble opinion. It wrecks things up close, the Bayonet Charge is nice (though you should be able to get off walls using B instead of A..... every time I try it, I always faceplant into the wall....), and you can three round burst it for some major assists long range.
Call me old Fashioned, but I love the Gnasher too much to really muck about with the Sawed Off. That, and the Retro Lancer is too short Ranged to really work well with the Sawed Off, though I haven't tried the two together since I started bursting the R.Lancer.

I couldn't agree more. I've had quite a few WTF moments where I lose out to a Gnasher when it should have been impossible. I don't know about you guys, but losing a ranged battle to a Gnasher when you're using the Retro kind of... Seems wrong to me. The plus side, however, is that it seems to be pretty commonly agreed upon that the Gnasher needs quite a bit of fixing.

The Retro needs to be 'fixed' a bit too.
Despite the claim of inaccuracy, I've been getting sniped with the dang thing from maximum range. I had someone headshot me, from across Trench, when I was lining up the Oneshot on them.
The Gnasher irks me simply because it's got a huge clip and people still get to 'roll up' and pop you with it.
