Sorry if this is a common question. I tried searching but nothing came up.

Pretty much the question is whether mounts are affected when a buffing spell (or magic banner, item, etc.) is on the unit they are part of?

For example, let's say you had a unit of cavalry with Wyssan's Wildform cast upon them. The riders obviously benefit from the +1 Strength and Toughness. But do the mounts suddenly have + 1 strength on their attacks as well?

Yes, they do. When it says the unit, it means every element of it. If it was to exclude the mounts, it would say so.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

MoK is one thing. What about hatred from a warrior priest? It's an easy question about mounts and spells that affect the unit, but not so much with hatred in my view, since we know that in general, mounts don't hate.

So....

if i cast Bless with filth on a unit of Rat ogres, that had a Warlord mounted on one in it, it'd effect both the Rat ogres, the Warlord and his mount?

Yes it would, as it affects the entire unit. That means the entire unit, mounts and all.

As for the hatred thing - oddly enough in 7th they would hate all the time. WP give the unit hate, meaning the mounts are a bit testy as well.

Wildform on some Brettonian Knights equals some pretty serious carnage.

...wonder if it'd be worthwhile to take the Mane to get S5 horses for a turn. Neigh.

On p.82, it says that, usually, Special Rules effecting the rider or mount don't effect the other. So a Dark Elf doesn't inherently pass on his burning emo-Hatred of everything to his mount.
...But a Warrior Priest can move a horse to feel holy wrath, since he gives it to the unit.

I feel like they tried to avoid this, but failed utterly to word it in any such way.

I would say GW will clear it up as they release new army books, but I've been playing these games long enough to know that's not going to happen.
