Hi there,
In this newsletter we are pleased to unveil the huge Imperial Guard Crassus Armoured Transport as well as two new decal sheets for Badab War Chapters: the noble Red Scorpions and the sinister Minotaurs. We also have details of our opening hours over the forthcoming Easter and UK May Day bank holiday weekends.
Imperial Guard Crassus Armoured Transport
The Crassus Armoured Transport is not a standard frontline Imperial Guard vehicle, but its armoured bulk and transport capacity make it extremely capable. Based upon the Macharius Heavy Tank chassis, the Crassus is powerful, reliable, and while ponderous, it can transport an entire infantry platoon of up to 31 Guardsmen, while its hull bristles with potent heavy weapons sponsons.
This immense armoured carrier is named after one of Lord Solar Macharius’ greatest generals, Borgen Crassus, who remained steadfastly loyal to the Imperium throughout the grim and bloody Macharian Heresy that followed the Lord Solar’s death.
The vehicle can be retrofitted with additional weapons to fulfil other battlefield roles as required, and thousands of these vast transports were drafted into the 6th Cadian Armoured’s ranks during the fighting on Betalis III.
The Crassus Armoured Transport is a massive full resin kit designed by Daren Parrwood, featuring a fully detailed interior, and it is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April. Forge World’s Book Design team have provided these experimental rules, taken from Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara, to allow any Imperial Guard army to field this lumbering behemoth.
Badab War Decal Sheets
Forge World’s Paul Rudge has recently completed two new decal sheets for the Minotaurs and Red Scorpions Space Marine Chapters. Each sheet is packed with over 1,000 individual squad designations and markings, blazons, aphorisms and squad numbers as well as larger vehicle markings and catechisms. The Minotaurs Decal Sheet also features three sizes of trim suitable for use on banners or cloak hems and large heraldic chevrons and lettering for use on vehicles.
Both the Minotaurs decal sheet and the Red Scorpions decal sheet are available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April.

My comments:
Rules here
225 points for a super heavy with 2 structure points. Armor 14/13/12. Carries 30 troops, but no fire points.
Starts with 4 heavy bolters. Can replace any/all 4 with Heavy Flamers, Autocannons, or Lascannons. Or, dump the side sponsons for armor 14 on the sides.
It's not an assault vehicle and it only has a rear ramp (for 30 troops...). Kind of an odd duck, actually. Other than camping on an objective, I'm not sure what the point is. It's an ugly cuss. I suppose you could plink the IG tank commander on it to improve the Ballistic Skill and plink away with 4 lascannons.

Its pretty sweet, but I really wish they'd offer a discounted version with no interior detail. Just like every other model that offers it, rhinos, land raiders, etc.. I dont *care* because the doors are shut

Do the superheavy rules not override this and make it an assault vehicle? I cant recall. If not then I agree its a strange vehicle.
Really like the model though.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Well...the Crassus' price has cut down on the amount of them I was going to get a few so that I could have some 'bulk transports' for my Guard.
Oh well. It'll still be a cool logistics/command vehicle.

The rules say it transports 30 models, but the email says 31? which is it? 31 would be best, cuz then it could be a platoon transport for me.. my platoons have 31 models
But then, isn't there some rule that only 1 unit can use 1 transport and that's it? Or would a platoon count since it's 1 troop choice?

True, but a super heavy tank with an assault ramp that has AV14, 2 structure points, and carries 30 guys should cost a crap-ton more than 225 points...

Its cool but just like the last superheavy transport.. It only moves 6"! and yeah the rear hatch thing is a bit silly.. Doesnt need to have an assault ramp just a hatch in the front. Oh well, just play with friends and modify the rules. Thats what I do

The ramp is on the back.
And this is an ancient, fully enclosed firebase vehicle that's been pressganged into service by the Cadian 6th Armoured to support their operations(in what capacity, we don't know yet and won't until the book is released).
It's not a Land Raider filled with assault troops, nor will it likely ever be anything of that nature for the Guard.

Why would they be?
Regiment names are recycled all the time.
This also likely takes place before the whole 13th Black Crusade. Automatically Appended Next Post: Should also add that this is very specifically "Cadian 6th Armoured" which means it would be different from the "Cadian 6th Infantry/Kasrkin/Shock Troop" regiments.

I thought it didnt go past 8th because the 8th was Creeds. Guess I was wrong. Think I will pick up this Imperial armour. Looks like it will have cool stuff. (Would be my first one to) Automatically Appended Next Post: AH, sorry, I guess I was thinking infantry regiments. Would make sense now that its armored companies, which would restart the regimental naming process.
