It's not like I necessarily intend to go into a tournament, but having an army that is perfectly legal is quite nice...

Seriously, I am looking for Nurgle bases and the only decent swamp ones I can find look like this:

Why must they have the unnecessary 5mm rings around the edge? :-/

I may be totally wrong with this as I have no experience with these bases, but it looks like those are just inserts. So what you get are the actual swamp bits and not the ringed base to slot them into. You could just buy the inserts and put them flat down onto a GW base, couldn't you?

Like I said, I may be wrong about this but it looks like that would be possible since these are just inserts, not full bases...

Oh, nice eye... Well they are described as '30mm' so that must mean the insert itself is that measurement? :-/

No, the measurement is always across the bottom of the base. The page is just saying that they're inserts for 30mm bases, but they should fit on top of 25mm bases fine.

From the description in the CMoN Store:

Groundwerks is a series of themed base resin inserts that fits inside premium bases or on top of traditional round bases.

Sometimes, it takes an expert to paint water to look realistic. But we have taken that out of the equation. This set of clear swamp bases are cast in clear green resin. All you need to do is to mask the water part with a liquid mask and then prime and paint the rest of the base as normal, and when you are done, peel off the masked area and you will have clear realistic looking swamp water in no time.

Looks like they'd go on top and they are clear plastic for making water effects easier.

Also it looks like it's $8 US for 3 as opposed to MAS ones (since you mentioned them) that are $7 US for 5.

Wait, you're paying for 'swamp bases' when you can do them yourself for the cost of a big bottle of Woodland Scenics water effects and a thing of green paint?

I have used this company for some of their other bases. Fast shipping and after getting the bases and painting them up:

I am very happy with them
