Hi all,

Spiky club is hosting a 2 day fantasy campaign weekend "Tides of Chaos", event page here, on the 16th and 17th July.

This will be a series of 5 games, 3 at 2200 and 2 at 2999, where competitors will play as part of a Domain (team) of 5 players in a set of 1 vs 1 games. Scenarios are drawn from the WHFB rulebook, but as you may expect from a campaign weekend there will be extras - mercenaries teams can buy, in game bonuses to your side - or ways to hinder your opponent!

There is very little in the way of composition requirements - you can take Special Characters, as an example - however we ask people to respect the nature of the event and maybe go for lists that may be different to those they would take to a tournament. People are also free to enter as a full team (providing they are all Destruction or Order, or allies of such) however there we ask that teams don't duplicate Special Characters - you're meant to be fighting as one big army, and Thorek cant be everywhere at once!

Cost is £25 for the weekend, including a fabulous* lunch on both days, and we have a bar on site to help people celebrate or commiserate as appropriate. There is plenty of parking on site, and we should be easy to find!

Please note that we've managed to put an older version of the rulepack up; the additions to it are included above. Hopefully version 2 will be up shortly.

*Well, subway. Quantity isn't an issue at least

Deadly!
Couple of questions- if I just come along, will I be able to get onto a team? I don't know any other wargamers in the UK at the moment.
And, are non-GW models okay?

Hi Da Boss!

We'll be making teams up out of those that have entered, if you dont enter yourself as a domain with other people - so definitely on the day you would be in a team! Its one of the reasons we need to know army lists in advance - means we can fill domains with Order and Destruction as appropriate. Depending on mix of armies entered you may end up with a mix of order and destruction in one team, but we want to avoid that as much as possible.

As for non-GW models - yep, no problem with that. We don't allow "proxying", so as long as it looks appropriate to the army and model it is supposed to be representing that is perfectly fine.

To be honest - Rule of Cool is very high on our list: if it looks awesome youre probably gonna be fine!

Edit: if people are travelling over we have lots of hotels in the area that range from cheap and cheerful upwards. We're also about a 15 minute (easy!) walk from the train station, which has very frequent trains from Paddington and the west.

Bump - we've added an entrants list to the spikyclub.com forum page - some interesting teams so far!
