Haven't posted a Battle report before, this won't be wonderful, so any advice on future ones would be great (will try and get Pics next time as well)

This was the 4th time i have played the Grey Knights, but this time i borrowed a friends Tyranids, we played at 1750 here are the lists:
Nids (Me)
HQ:Tervigon (Toxin Sacs, Adrenal Glands, Stinger Salvo, Crushing Claws, Catalyst)
HQ:Tervigon (Toxin Sacs, Adrenal Glands, Stinger Salco, Crushing Claws, Catalyst)
Elite: Hive Guard x3
Elite: Hive Guard x3
Elite: Hive Guard x3
Troop: Genestealer x17 (Toxin Sacs)
Troop: Genestealer x17 (Toxin Sacs)
Troop: Genestealer x10
Troop: Genestealer x10

Grey Knights (Slightly rough list, not sure on all wargear)
HQ: Draigo
HQ: Librarian (Had Sanctuary, the power to make you take difficult/dangerous terrain, quicksilver, and another i belive)
Troop: 10 Paladins (all/mostly diffrent, including Apocathary, Warding Stave, 4 Psycannons, 1 Daemon Hammer, banner, Psybolt etc etc)
Troop: 5 Terminators (1 Psybolt, Psycannon, not 100% sure on weapons)
Heavy: Dreadnought (2x TLAC, Psybolt)
Heavy: Dreadnought (2x TLAC, Psybolt)

My opponent rolled for mission, we got 2+D3 objectives (Capture points?) and then rolled a 3, so 4 objectives. He placed first, in some trees about 18" away from long and shot tabel edge, i then placed in almost opposite corner (in some area terrain) he then placed one out in open, 12" away, and then i placed other 12" away from his and my first one (in terrain again) so was a rough diamond shape of objectives. I then tolled Spearhead (table quaters). He won the roll off to go first.

Places his Paladin squad with Dragio and Librarian as far foward as possible, trying to aviod have to move through terrain, then both Dreads and the 5 man squad at the edge of the trees where the first objective was placed.

I then placed one tervigon on the objective i placed first, in terrain, with 3 Hive Guard behind him, and the other tervigon in a crator, roughly in front of the second objective he placed, with 6 Hive Guard behind him. I then infiltrated the two big squads (two small squads outflanking) One behind a bastion, 12" away from his paladins and Dreads, but behind them, had to bunch up to get out of LOS, other squad was infront/beside (half in terrain) ther tervigon and 3 Hive Guard.

GK Turn 1: He moves his Paladin squad foward (avioding the terrain, he only did this because last time we played, me using Necrons he only managed to move about 20" in 5 turns, never getting into combat), his Terminator squad started moving towards middle objective in terrain. The dreads didn't move, and then opend up fire at the Tervigon (in the crator), between them managing 1 wound. The Paladins then followed suit, and caused a further two wounds.
Nid Turn 1: I move the 3 Hive Guard and Tervigon slight foward in their terrain, and the 17 Genestealer squad next to them moved towards the paladin squad, as did the hiding squad of 17 (i decided to go for them, rather than the Dreads). The other Tervigon and 6 Hive Guard stood still, the first Tervigon cast Catalyst on the 17 Stealers near him, who didn't end up making it near enough to the Paladins, so just made sure they were half in cover with there run move. The second Tervigon spawned, rolling two 6s and a 1 :( 6" away from him, and moving 6". I then shot all 9 Hive Guard at the paladins, causing 3,4 and 5 wounds from the 3 squads. Only one wounds on Dragio was the result. The Guants also shot, and failed to do any damage. He then cast his dangerous/difficult terrain, and the Guants and hiding Stealers assaulted, both getting in (just, Stealers rolling 6 to get in, through terrain, but only 7 would be in range of assault) i lost 2 Guants and 3 Stealers from the dangerous terrain. I then lost horribly, he killed 9 Guants, leaving two to attack back, he did fail a wound from their attacks. He then killed all but 6 Genestealers, doing one further wound. I wasn't in synapse so both squads failed their leadership, and that was that (well they had to run off bored, but were never going to get into synapse so i just removed them.)

GK Turn 2: Librarian casts Quicksilver (passing on 3D6), and Paladins move towards other Genestealers, Terminators stay still this turn (think he forgot them to be honest) Both Dreads moved fowards. The Dreads shot the Tervigon again, i passed the saves. Paladins assault (passing another psycic test on 3D6 for hammerhand i belive), he kills about 8 because only Draigo and 3/4 Paladins into combat. I then caused no wounds, i got about 10 hits, i rolled 6 1s and 2s, re-rolled, and rolled pretty much the same, he passes the saves, i then take 8 fearless wounds, with FNP and lose a further 6, leaving three in combat.
Nid Turn 2: Niether Stealer squad came on. Tervigon and 6 Hive Guard move backwards, Hive Guard with other Tervigon move fowards, Tervigon stayed in the same place, and spanwed, double 6 and 4, another one rolling double first time, then managed to get FNP off on them, beating the psycic hood, the other failed to get Catalyst off. The lined up infront of the Tervigons and Hive Guard to protect them. First squad of Hive Guard shot at nearest Dread, only 2 out of 3 in range, 2 hits, one glance, one penetrate, rolled pen first and got a 6. Other two squads wern't in range of the other Dread, because the moved back. Dragio killed last 3 Stealers.

GK Turn 3: He moved the Dread back into terrain, and the Terminators fowards this turn. He tried to move the Paladins around the wall of Guants, didn't shoot them, because he wanted to multiple assault the Guants and Tervigon (The one from the crator), he did shoot the other Dread at the Tervigon, who was on 3 wounds, and i failed two saves, so down to 1. His Terminators assaulted the one end of the Guant line, and the Paladins tried to roll to get in on the Tervigon, needing a 5, he rolled 2 & 3, so failed. Guants were just in 6" of other Tervigon when they piled into assault with the Terminators. I belive he killed 6-8. I got about 12 attacks (counter attack), did 3 wounds, he rolled 3 ones. Some Guants managed to stay in combat.
Nid turn 3: One stealer squad came on, and ran towards the Dread in terrain (rolling to get on that side). Hive Guard moved towards the piece of terrain the other Tervigon and Hive Guard were in. No FNP this turn, Psycic hood prevailing. All 9 Hive Guard shot at the Paladins, one more wound on Dragio, and one dead Paladin. Stinger Salvo from Tervigons did 1 wound on the Apocathary. Genesteaers were not in range of assault. His Terminators finished off the Guants, and ran into the objective in the middle (in terrain).

GK Turn 4: Paladins didn't seem to do anything much this turn, Terminators made sure they were on objective. The one wound Tervigon either died from Dread or Paladin squad shooting. The Paladins were kind of in the middle of my objective in terrain, and the one in the middle. But not on either, also a fair few inches away from Hive Guard and other Tervigon.
Nid Turn 4: Other Stealers on, and same side as last squad, started moving towards the objective in the open, but only rolling 1" on run move, so not very close yet, and there was a crator inbetween. Stealer squad that came on last turn sourounded the Dread, Tervigon stayed still, Hive Guard edging back a bit, all 9 shot at the two terminators on the objective, causing no wounds. Stealers assauted the Dread, and destroyed it, staying on the objective there.

GK Turn 5: Paladins spread over the two objectives, so at this point it was 3-1 to him. They shot the Tervigon i belive, as did the Terminators, but managed to only do 1/2 wounds.
Nid Turn 5: Stealer squad on objective in trees, started to form a line, to the objective the Paladins were spread out to in the open , didn't get far enough with movement. Other stealers just about got in crator but were over 6" away. They got a poor run move. Other Stealer squad got just enough run move to get to within 3" of the Paladins objective, and stay on their own. Tervigon edged fowards to get within 3" of other Paladin objevtive. First Hive Guard squad shot Terminators, 3 hits, 2 wounds, 2 fails. Dead. Other 6 Hive Guard killed 2 Terminators and another wound on Draigo. Most important roll of the game for me now, with both the Objectives the Paladins are on contested, but still a 9/10 man squad, and the Genestealers still on the objective in the trees, and the otherone with nothing on it 1-0 to me. A friend rolled to see if the game ended, he got a 1, and the game ended with me just edging to victory
Spoiler:
A TYRANID VICTORY

* One point i forgot to mention, is he made the Dreads scoring with Dragio's special rule, i don't know wether or not its allowed, its a RaW vs RaI argument apparently, i didn't really mind, and in the end had no effect (I said at the time, 9 Hive Guard would destroy them anyway )
A very close win for the Nids, against an army that really isn't suited to playing multiple objectives. The positioning of the objectives, all fairly close mean't he still had a chance, and the Paladins stretching acorss should have won him the game in theory, but some unlucky saves on the Terminators, and me just contesting either end without having to assault or kill any with shooting mean't victory. I still had a fair ammount left, all 9 Hive Guard, one Tervigon on 4 or 5 wounds. and 19 Genestealers (the Dread killed 1). If we had one more turn, i think i would have lost, two more turns, possibly still a win, unless he managed to assault all 9 Hive Guard at once, turn 6 it would have been likely to only be able to assault the Tervigon (And stealers at the other end). Luck came into it, and turn 3 i was feeling very pessimistic about my chances, but his movement in turn 5, made me very confidant. Anyway, hope you like the BR, its not wonderful, and probably too wordy, but i was quite happy in the end with the victory and just wanted to get one of these done.
Thanks

There where way too many points thrown into that paladin squad. I played with one against daemons last night but had them almost bare. The daemon player surrendured at turn 3 .

King's of war-Elves 2000pts
Dystopian wars-Prussians 2500pts
GK 1750pts

The report is pretty good. I would recommend you put a space between the GK and tyranid turns. It'll make it a little easier to read. I tend to color-code mine (using different colors) so it's easily identified who's turn it is (for example, I use red font to denote my grey knight's turn and blue to denote my opponent's).

This is really a list mismatch. I look at both lists and I know who would win already. I actually think that tyranids should be able to massacre the knights, or close to, if only you didn't make several mistakes.

Thanks for the comments.

taylor048, yes his squad is a bit expensive, he's a new GK player, and kind of copied someones (more experianced) 'silly' GK lists, changing it a bit.
and jy2, will do that with the text next time. But in reply to your other comment, i don't think the lists are really that mismatch. Nothing in combat was going to beat him, Nids don't have Nades and he was just going to cast the difficult/dangerous terrain test to make the genestealers ineffective. And Hive Guard shot them nearly every turn, and still only killed 2/3 and did a couple of wounds to Draigo, what else could i have done? (And i'm not a Nid player anyway, was even worse when i played him with crons last week )

*Although, thinking about it after the game. At least the one big Stealer squad he assaulted, should have gone for the Terminators, i acted a bit too soon with them, i deployed the, with the sole aim of attacking the Paladins, should have reallly looked around. And the other Stealer squad should have gone for Dreads maybe as well, forcing his Paladins either to turn around or ignore all the Genestealers, and probably never reaching the Hive Guard. (and if his Paladin saves had been as unlucky as his Terminator ones.......)
