Okay so does taking multiple death company dreadnoughts count against your 6 troop choices you can take or does it mean they all only take up 1 troop slot?

DC Dreads use a troop slot, you can take one per 5 DC, but they use an actual slot

So technically, even though you may have 30 DC in your army, you can only take 5 max dreads
1 Troop = 30 DC
5 Troop = 5 Dreads
totals 6 troop

Yep, 1 slot per dread as nothing says otherwise.
