Just posting a shooty list I came up with and will probably field Saturday ... no idea how it'll works any suggestions before I field it would be nice

Note I do theme armies and a different one every Saturday this sat my theme at 1250 will be lots of dakka

basic idea is a gun line, big meks get attached to boys and its a good old fashioned gun line... but with orks. If anything actually reaches me then the deffdreads cleans up.

I think the list could use a little something but I have no problem fielding it as it is... I have 3 other 250 lists to play with too so i may table this for later and run my flash gitz bw bash list or a mostly mek list but i feel like throwing templates atm and this is a lot of em

big meks with grots holding objectives artillery and lootas spread out for fores separation of shooting/assaults to make them last longer or if kill points bunch up where deff dreads can charge out if stuff gets in close combat range

Keep the meks away from everything else, unless you throw in a squad of grots, because if you roll double ones then your squad goes away.

Overall if you bump up the troops you have a bit this could probably do pretty well. Right now it just seems a bit toy heavy for orks.

I like it let us know how you do. I do agree with the above poster though gretchin are better with SAGs maybe 2 units of 10-19 with 1 runt herder with the points saved I would invest in more anti tank. Lobbas and SAG are for anti infantry more then anti tank and loots may be able to take down a transport but I would maybe replace a unit or 2 of lobbas with kannons and maybe add in more rokkit warbuggies.

hmm.... you're right boys have no place in my list thats it i'll grot it upgrade to some zap guns for anti tank and downgrade one group to cannon cause why not field all 3 types of gunz...

then add to the lootas

Zzap guns generally have a bad reputation they are the most expensive big gun and on average you will get 7s so it's lower Strength then the shell from a kannon and there is no difference between 10-12 so you are paying 30 pts per unit of 3 more for a chance to hit harder. It's a gamble like the SAG guns, though personally I like Ork things cheap and kannons give you some diversity with the 2 ammunition types. And lootas should be taken in units of 5 or 15 only. The reason being they have low leadership, some shooting or a blast template wipe out 2 of your 7 they have to test for panic and a good chance they will flee. So 5 are expendable where 15 can take a hit and will generally stay due to mob rule and needing to take out 4 guys to test for panic.

well... how they did in 2 matches

they first math was against grey wolves. I rolled double ones on the SAG first turn and planning for such an occurrence i had set lootas on the other side of the terrain piece... unfortunately i rolled a 6 wiping out most of the lootas and 2 kannonz turn one. in that match to follow it up i rolled double ones on the second SAG turn 2 and again a 6 wiping out another group of lootas and one of the zzap guns. such is life, still funny when it happened... i conceded at the end of turn 4 i had almost nothing left

for my second match it was REALLY fun. played against IG and had a blast. the SAG did much better, turn 1 as if fate was repaying me i doll double 6's shooting at a tank of some kind immobilizing it and gumming up his movement. this was an objective match with four on the field. i banked my sag and grots around a large piece of terrain with a deff dred around it and managed to withstand manticore rockets to get there. he brought 2 transports the big flying one and another chimera to meet my lootas but i moved my deff dread to hold. in the end i wiped his troops from all but one objective i had troops at two. on his last turn to try to contest he used a LR to tank shock my deff dred (it was the only way to get close enough to the objective and stopping short was iffy) death or glory roll on armor 14 with str 10 ... rolled a 6 and got an immobilize. he had to do the same trying to kill my other deff dread and stop me from his troops contesting... same result 6 then immobilize... i had never gotten to death or glory and am glad i knew that i could . when the dust settled his immobilized tanks one was within 3 inches (3 inches on the nose) so it was contested, he had one scoring, i had one node contesting his other troops and he was contesting both f mine so victory IG.


all in all a fun list, next time i might just do looted wagons instead of big guns... but it was still a very fun list to play. i will use it again, the guard player really enjoyed the game and so did i, it was in the wire the whole game and he had never tank shocked in 6 years of playing said it never made sense before this army. we're playing again next week, cause we really enjoyed playing each other, he may bring DE, IG, or NIDS but as i told him, i bring a different list every week so we'll see what find of fun fluff list i can come up with next time

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I take it you run the SAG rules as "Any non-vehicle model under the template is removed, vehicles take an auto pen hit" instead of "Any model under the template is removed, vehicles additionally suffer an automatic penetrating hit"?

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

yea we play the any non vehicle under it is removed on double 6's thats the second time its ever happened to my knowledge where i play. but i hit a vehicle so it was an auto penetrating hit unfortunately the crew inside wasn't removed with it still was a blast (yay puns)
