Hey boys and girls!...who am I kidding, just boys.

So I decided I don't see enough Space Marine Bike armies in my club, so I'm gonna do it myself. While I could go down the White Scars road, I don't know if I'll take Korsarro Khan. I have a custom Vulkan built, and planned on spamming Meltaguns, Flamers, and MultiMeltas on the attack bikes. I'm still undecided on the HQ.

Anyway, my problem is I don't think a bike army has enough sturdy/damage dealing units. I thought about a Land Raider with termies inside, maybe draw some fire, or a few dreadnoughts, Ironclad or riflemen dread.

Anyway, you OCC heads, you guys have any ideas?

Thats what I would look at first. Just give you some ideas, you can always change things around as you wish.

You know what would be really funny seeing a 9 speeder army supported by the emperor knows what not.

Speeders are such mean little things mm hf or mm hb either way good times.

I wouldnt go with bikes they are not that amzing and they cost too many points and too much monies :(

I agree they are horrifically expensive, money wise, but I still think it would look awesome.

Anyways! I think that drop dreads would compliment a bike army. Drop them in the backfield and smash em from the front with the bikes. Hammer and anvil tactic. This type of list doesn't have a lot of long range AT but if you are up in their business turn 1 you dont really need it I suppose.

For the Bike load out, I agree with you. lots of MM, Meltagun, and Flamer. Also I would give the Sargs' PW or PF but you probably were already planning on doing that.

PS Here is a list I made for fun when I was thinking of building a bike army.

I left out Kor'sarro as i feel he is overpriced and you can build a near identical Captain for 30 pts cheaper

HQ:

Captain on Bike w/ Artificer Armour, PW, and Digi Weapons

Command Squad on Bikes 3x LC, Company Champ

Troops:

Bike Squad x5 - 2x Meltaguns, PF

Bike Squad x6 - 2x Flamers, PF, Attack Bike w/ HB

Tac Squad in Rhino

Scout Squad CB and BP

Fast Attack:

Land Speeder Storm

Elite:

Sterguard Vets x5 - 3x combi-meltas, Drop Pod

Heavy Support:

Thunderfire Cannon

1500 pts on the dot

Dropping the Sternguard for a Dread would also work.

For 2K use the remaining 500 pts to add another Drop Dread, a 3rd Melta bike squad, and 2 Attack Bikes with MM (roughly, dont have my codex ATM). Leaving about 65 pts left over to beef up what you wanted.

Plenty of punch and it is very mobile.

I like the thunderfire cannon, but its just SO fragile, I don't know If I want to invest in a unit that will most likely not survive round 1. And I have a pod, don't know if I want to land a dread in it though, I thought about just dropping it on an objective with a tac squad inside, carrying a lascannon. Not sure, because an Ironclad with 2 hunterkillers might be nasty as well.

Not saying all bikes wont look cool im just thinking effectiveness you know.

Meh drop pod its a hit and miss sort of thing thunder fire cannons are great just deploy them right and you are good to go as in in cover and think about it this way if they shoot it they are not shooting your bikers.

Yes but the thing is if they shoot your troops the cannon will do damage if they shoot the cannon your bikes will run over their face the next turn.

Well why not take assault termies in a lr to back your bikes that would look so cool on the table a bunch of bikes and bam lr.
