Ok. So if a large model with the Random Movement SR comes on the board from reserve as reinforcements (Let's say, a Skaven Doomwheel), I'm aware that it comes onto the board in the Remaining Movement phase, thus it has MISSED the Compulsory Movement phase and simply comes onto the board at the end of movement with the back of it's base flush with the board edge and doesn't move any further.
That much I get...
My question is, can it do ANYTHING other than move straight forward in the following friendly Compulsory Movement phase? It's back end is flush with the board edge. If it pivots, it's rotation will bring the corner of it's base off the board and I do not think the RAW allow that to happen in the case of a normal pivot. In a similar situation, if it was one inch away from a building or friendly unit, the act of pivoting could very likely (again, depending on it's positioning) bring it's base within 1 inch of a structure or friendly unit (or in the case of a Doomwheel's rectangular base, actually ON TOP OF a close unit at times) then it would not be able to do anything but move out of the way first before it can make a clean pivot.
Is this correct? Is there a rule that says you disregard the position of a base during a pivot IN THE MOVEMENT PHASE? IIRC you can disregard the pivot at the end of a close combat when a unit is fleeing after a failed break test... but the example above with the Doomwheel is not a break test and therefore you'd have to be wary of the model's base at all times during it's pivot? Yes/no? Any BRB rules quotes would be immensly helpful.
Thanks Dakka!
