I did brought up this earlier, but kind of never get this answered,

How much durable could this be:

5xTH/SS terms + TDA Lib (shield) + TDA Priest (FNP, (FC won’t do much at I1))

Thing is how much attention this unit will attract? What could this stand? What are its major problems/ flaws?

5000 + ( dont know when that happened )

Well, the Librarian isn't adding any standing power via Shield, as the squad already has a 3++ save.

It will take 12 normal wounds to get one through 2+ armor and FNP. That works out to be 36 bolter shots or 72 slugga or lasgun shots. AP2 stuff needs 3 wounds, which is 5.4 shots at BS4, 7.2 at BS3.

You will obviously beat up most stuff in CC. Even mass Power Weapons like Incubi or Howling Banshees will have trouble causing enough wounds to really hurt you. It takes 6 S4 hits to get through, or 9 S3. Even hitting on threes means 9 attacks at S4 or 13.5 at S3. That means a squad of 10 Howling Banshees with an Exarch will only kill about 3 on the charge, while you kill about the same. If you charge them, they only kill 1-2, and you kill about half the squad.

The main flaws are that the squad is slow, and can't sweeping advance. It also clocks in at over 400 points. If you put them in a Landraider, we're talking 650-700. At best, that's a third of your army. Once you've lost a few members, you've lost a lot of killing power, so you won't be able to dish out too much pain against infantry.

Current Record: 5 Wins, 6 Draws, 3 Losses 2000 points

Its a deathstar but do you really need FnP? If you take out priest and lib, you'd get a buttload of points for other things. So it comes down to is FnP and uberdeath star worth all that? Also, if you're taking LRC, why not just take more terminators then? More wounds > expensive FnP imo. Also, cheaper way to get wounds than a libby.

that 3+ save is so obnoxious. Even vindicators aren't a sureway to win.

On the other hand, a 6+6 with my shokk attakk gun is glory incarnate when shooting at expensive deathstars.

He needs the fnp against things like ork mobs since they go first and can kill 2-3 before they get to strike

Tell that to the bloodthirster/Dread/etc. who hits your librarian in the face because he doesn't like nullzone. Or in a blood angels case, the guy with might and sang sword who got +d3 attacks this turn at S10. Kind of a threat to take out. If you are going to go into combat with a librarian, take something with an invulnerable save, preferably the best one you can get. Librarians without that are in CC get smacked in the face with power attacks and ID a lot.

Ah, I thought he meant Shield of Sanguinius, which only helps against shooting. I take that as the second power for my Unleash Rage libby who accompanies my assault terminators, primarily to protect my vehicles.

First of all thanks for enlightening me with more knowledge, now i see that they aren’t that durable as i thought first, and as usual they would need support worth their own costs.

On the other hand, as you mentioned above, that it would work better w-out lib, just with the priest.

Moreover, how could i maximize the output of this unit price vs. effectivity ? As to me it seems, that 3LC/2TH+Priest is far better option (sure i would be better of making it unit of 7+ Priest for a LRR).

*Edit*

How about giving them a Chap (simple 100p one), so the unit will consist of 5TH/SS (w.ever combo discussed) +Tda priest + chap (rerolls), overkill?

For my part, I am not a fan of LC terminators since the 3++ stormshield arrived. If most of my opponents CC units (or even shooty units) weren't I5 or better, most of which are throwing in power attacks, I would be more thrilled with them.. But thats the situation I am working with. If you are going to take hits anyway going simultaneous or last, bring a shield and a giant hammer that wounds things on a 2+. If I was playing BA I would gladly pay the extra couple of points for a massive utility increase.

My vote: Priest with 100% TH/SS.

Lightning Claws get substantially better with the addition of Furious Charge. Going up to I5 and wounding marines on a re-rolled 3+ means a LC term on the charge kills substantially more dudes on the charge, often before the enemy gets to swing.

I LOVE everything about the TH/SS terminators, but I still run one LC, and I can definitely respect the folks who run two. With FC they're just brutal.
