Need opinions please
Board 1: Jungle
http://youtu.be/gRdP8j8tiiU?hd=1
Board 2: Khorne influenced daemon gate
http://youtu.be/bSDBQ6JUwC0?hd=1
Not sure if i should add more tree's to the jungle board, i think I'm near the 25% mark as it is.
edit: Tags for YouTube did not seem to be working.

If the green areas the trees sit within count as the edges of area terrain, I think you may have over 25%.
That wouldn't worry me, as jungle is meant to be dense terrain. You could add some more trees and undergrowth for the look of things.
I love the river!
The second board looks great. There is plenty of cover for infantry. Vehicles and MCs will be a bit out in the open, depending on the angles round the central terrain feature.
Do you plan to play with any temporary features such as buildings on either board?

Wow, excellent boards. The second one blows me away though
I would agree with KK that the first board perhaps needs a few more trees to help break up LOS a bit more (perhaps a couple of giant trees with the big root flanges?).
I also think you need something similar for the second board - skull pillars or something, evil temple buildings etc.

Your stuff looks amazing! I only have to ask you on question. How modular is your terrain? If not at all won't that create a problem of boredom in the long end, despite amazing features.

All of the tree's and jungle plants are attached with a nail on the bottom so they can be moved around, with the flock there you can't see the hole when you move them.
I have a bunch of cityfight buildings but no plans to inset them into the board, they can be tossed on to either board as needed.
Ordering more tree's now. I'll see if i can hack together a larger jungle tree from a few woods kits.
Thanks for the feedback!

The amount of trees seems to be fine, as long as you can clearly determine where the area terrain begins and ends. The point of area terrain is to have a few trees represent a whole forest, that way you can still physically put your models there. Too many trees and the models either can't be placed or can't be seen when placed.
Sexy as hell either way.

Both look Great, with a capital G!
For the river, maybe add a little "blue" food coloring available in the baking section of the local grocer. (Experiment first, only a few drops will be needed!)
Most water will not appear clear at 25mm (from distance), color helps the naked eye to see the water actually flowing…
Great, just Great!

Plan is to add red food coloring, board one and board two hook together in an I formation. there's a 3rd board thats not yet constructed. perhaps i should move this to the P&M blogs and start posting more.
Would folks be interested in the process? i can document the build.

It has a real river, nobody would care if it's over 25% and it's a jungle, it should be less range and more close in firefights Edit: didn't relise the other vid was a different board, could it not be a problem placing models on that terrain (khorne board) WIPs would be lovely, what do you use to make it watertight?

Wowee.
This is great, I dig that Jungle board.
I'd say more trees, yes, and maybe some more rock and hill.
But, how'd you get those craters? Those look really good.

Those craters are actually carved straight from the foam. I use a wire brush with a scrapeing end on it to dig the foam out.
Thanks again for the feedback!

WIP would be nice...
So, starting at the Chaos board the river is contaminated with red, then flows to the other boards, awesome!!!
Maybe edit your original post and label the two "different" links to the different boards, as some are not looking at the second link.
Again, nice job! Automatically Appended Next Post: Making modular larger bases (from hardboard?) for the trees and etc. is what seems to be a common sugestion, so the boards can be used over and over without boredom. (pun intended)
As not to interupt the special "realistic" effect, GW uses colored sand to cover the bases edges in the WD photos, then I am sure a "Dust-buster" after, lol... so...

It was not easy, first time i ever tried something like this.
I originally used mastic to fill out but i didn't realize it was only water resistant, not waterproof, i had leaks at the center drop and out the side of the board (go go read directions right?) The run itself is carved directly from the foam and covered in a waterproof drylok concrete mix, my terrain painting mix (ceiling texture from val-spar, textured paint and silicone sand) then is painted. To keep it waterproof sealed with a driveway sealant, it says it dies in 3 hours but it takes alot longer when not in direct sunlight. This gives it a glossy look when dry.
Once this was done i sealed all the edges in silicone, in front of the waterfall and the drop etc..
