Probably work

I might just be finally catching up with the rest of the class, but did anyone else notice that it sounds like you can use the 2+ invul from the warding stave against perils of the warp from psychic powers used in close combat?

In light of this, I'm thinking about always bringing my warding stave on my Justicar.

Well, according to the Rules As Written, that would seem to be the case. If I was playing against you, I'd let you use it for Perils in CC.

It says you get a +2 invul when in CC(not specifically against CC attacks).

It's pretty expensive to give to your guys and it's correct RAW. I'd let you use it against PotW.

RAW you can use it; however, it is mighty expensive to put on your Justicar. I would put it on a normal trooper. Spread your eggs around multiple baskets. Remember you have to reroll sucessful perils so your chance of losing him is very high. Best to just keep him cheap and let him die if perils occur.

I see what you're saying, and it's a good point, however, I don't think two 2+ saves are very hard to make, and the justicar serves the all-important purpose of keeping the perils wound as far away from my psycannon as possible.

I might have to do some mathhammer to figure what my odds of losing him are.
