Okay, so I've looked around a bit but haven't found this discussed elsewhere.

Hellstrike missiles, as seen on the stock valkyrie, are ordnance. If memory serves, you can only fire one ordnance weapon per phase, if you fire nothing else, whilst having remained stationary in the movement phase.

I haven't found anything that changes this for fast vehicles or skimmers, but I have missed stuff before, so I thought you guys would know. I'm considering taking a naked valkyrie or two you see, mostly for transportation, but it would be nice if they could be of SOME use in a pinch.

TL: DR - Can hellstrike missiles be fired after moving or simultaneously?

Your memory serves you incorrectly; you do not have to be stationary to fire ordnance (and haven't since 3rd edition). See the Ordnance rules on p58.

It's also worth remembering that the Hellstrike missile doesn't have the "blast" rule, so it doesn't use the blast marker. This makes it really just a slightly upgraded Hunter Killer Missile.

You can fire a single hellstrike, and nothing else, or you can fire your other weapons. As above - you dont need to be stationary to do so.

Ah, I had been thinking of ordnance barrage weapons perhaps.

I know it has no blast, lol. I think more people would take valkyries if they could fire the equivalent of battle cannon shells

But anyway that's pretty swell then. Sucks I can't fire two at once, but I guess the pilot has to activate the missiles in turn, like they do on film. It does make it cooler.

Perhaps, but FYI (since you brought it up), Fast vehicles can indeed fire Ordnance Barrage while moving at Combat speed. Page 70, main rules, Fast Vehicles Firing.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Why is it a single hellstrike and nothing else, or other weapons?

If a stormraven is stationary, can it not fire off all its weapons at once?

*edit* This is for the Valkyrie, but the same question applies to both.

Because, as an ordnance weapon, you can only fire the ordnance weapon OR your other weapons, regardless of movement. The Leman Russ's 'Lumbering Behemoth' rule rids them of this restriction in exchange for speed, however since the Valkyrie lacks such a rule, if it fires an ordnance weapon, it can not fire anything else.

The Valkyrie's missiles are Ordinance, the Stormraven's missiles are Heavy.

Yep, we're not Marines, so we can only fire one missile at a time.....................

Except you only get 2 missiles, and can only fire 1/turn, so you may only get 3 turns of shooting, and will be destroyed should your Valk fire both missiles and take 3 immobilized/Weapon Destroyed results(1 to remove the multi-laser, 1 to immobilize the vehicle, 3rd wrecks the vehicle) BRB FAQ states that firing 1-shot weapon has the same effect as a weapon destroyed on that weapon.

For 30 more points(making the valk the same cost as the vendetta) you need 5 immobilized/WD results to down the valk and can fire all 3 on the move.

The Valk and the Vendetta are both diffferent uni-task vehicles, 1 kills infantry and moves faster(12"/turn, and fire all 3 weapons) the other kills vehicles and moves slower(6"/turn to fire all weapons). the Weapon "upgrade" on vendetta confuses its roll, and the stock Valk Confuses it's roll.

2 Large blast bolters are full of win.

"role".

I agree that the S4 pieplates are sweet, since they're defensive weapons.
