Pretty sure this will be extremely low on your priority list, if it gets on there at all!

But would there be any call for improving or expanding the "Know this user" or "Friends" feature? I know its petty but I just get a little nerked at noobies on this site that add you as a friend and they don't even know me or have even spoken to me. And I really hate it when I've seen them add that they know me in Reallife!

I guess I should just grow a pair and move on, it just nerks me is all. Could we get a feature that requires users to accept that we know them in RL or even a method of removing it?

I agree, I always found ti a bit odd that people could list you as a friend when you don't even know them.

I think it would be akin to "following" someone on other sites, rather than being "friends" with them. Some kind of distinction between the two (even if all access etc were the same - they were just displayed in different lists similar to how "friends" and "people what I know" are at the moment) might be helpful.

If I was going to throw my dolly out the pram I'd say to either remove the feature or improve upon it. Trouble is I can already see the sensible responses to my arguement such as "Why make it more like facebook where you have to accept requests, may as well go on facebook" or "Spending time on the feature would not benefit the site"

Could you make it so anyone can say your a friend of theirs or you know them in real life but it only will appear in a profile if both people have clicked it.

So if Bob clicked to say he knew me in real life he could, however nothing would appear in his or my profile unless I ALSO clicked that I knew bob in RL. Or .. .. just ban noobs from adding for a bit until they get to grips with using Dakka. Sure I know they want to add their friends too or want to add the big guys to make them look popular.
