I haven't been able to get a copy of the new TK book in my hands yet, but I've been hearing all kinds of rumors about how badass the model for this guy is. Problem is, I haven't been able to find a single picture of him on the internet...

Anyone got one for me? :(

Google search isn't yielding anything.

I havn't heard of this Character at all.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Is this the character made of a swarm of scarabs?

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Yes.

I'll try to get a scan for you later today(and by extension the Necrotect since they're on the same page). Anyone want me to scan the bow Ushabti page, too?

Prince Apophas has an ok model IMHO. It reminds me of the Dark Elf Sorceress wreathed in smoke in that the elemental aspect to the model (in this case a swarm of scarabs) doesn't really work for me.

In gaming terms, he is basically a character killer or should be except his stats aren't that fantastic. Aside from 5 attacks, he only has WS4 and S4 (plus re-rolled hits/wounds against a random opposing character). It strikes me that like Death Master Snikch, he will be best deployed against Wizards. Oh and I think he can fly.

He can fly and has that Entombed Beneath the Sands rule. But yes, I don't see him taking down too many big characters without magic giving him killing blow. In which case, he'll be kinda nasty.

I actually feel as though the model looks pretty awful. It's like a smiley skeleton, and the scarabs are indistinguishable from a pile of stones, and it's a really small scale.. basically picture a 3rd edition Warhammer figure, and make it look even less impressive.

Yah, he totally sucks! I don't know why anyone thinks he's good at all.

I mean he only has S4 W4 A5. With Fly. Regeneration. Terror. With a breath weapon. Who can nominate 1 target to reroll hit/wound. All for 130 points.

But can he dance?

I.e., he's probably one of the best heroes in all of Warhammer Fantasy per cost.

I see a warmachine hunter and an archer tarpit.

he actually wouldn't do too bad as a flank charger. charge a large block from the front with Skellies or something with ranks and the Prince can flank them and rack up some combat res for you. 5 attacks is pretty rare for heroes.

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

This thread was started before the model had been widely seen.
