have an apoc game this week and our FLGS lets us use our on units as long as we have an alright model ( mine will look like the walkers from the avatar movie ) and the rules are not totaly over powerd
mine is a walker HQ ( its kinda like a sentinal but buffed up to hell ) and a body guard of walkers
HQ
Mothax , rides in goliath
Goliath,s AV
[front 13 ( bear with me ) side 11 rear 10] I3 S6 WS5 BS4 A3
wargear
The emperors protection
The Emperors Wrath
The emperors Wrath
this is a titanic weapon used by Mothax to slay anyont foolish enough to come close to him
this is a Dreadnout close combat weapon in addition it also incorperates a multi laser into the blade itself
The emperors protection
This is a shield used by Mothax to defend himdelf. It is basicaly a large slab of adamantium that will protect him from all who wish to see his destruction
This Shield gives the goliath a front AV of 14 and a 5++ invunerable save agaist attack made on his FRONT Arc and also gives him extra armor.
in addition melta weapons do not gain the 2d6 for amor penatration but other NON melta abilitys may bypass this
Special rules
Independent Character *
Walker body guard
Move through cover
Senior officer
Self repair
Independent character*
In all respects Mothax is an independent character with the following adjustments
he may only join his body guard and no other units
when he joins his body guard he is not subject to the walker squadron rules and an imobalized result will not destroy him
Walker body guard
Mothax is accompanied by a walker body guard that will defend him
they are useing the walker squadron rules
body guard 0-3
stats
front av=12
side av = 11
rear av = 10
WS 4
BS 4
I 3
A 2
S 6
wargear
Dreatnaut close combat weapon
storm bolter
special rules
move through cover
Self repair
if mordrak is imobalized then every turn after he can attempt a self repair
on a 5 or 6 the result is ignored
i think thats it what do you guys think i was thinking of 200 ish points for him and maybe 85 points, ish for the body guard

I'm not familiar with the Imperial Codex, so please keep that in mind
I see the Character as a kind of Dreadnought, without the shooty bitz. I'd make him about 130-150 points, but I admit I don't really know the effects of self-repair and senior officer..
The bodyguards make the character alot more survivable, and have an Dreadnought Close Combat weapon on top of that. Now there armour isn't great so I'd say 75 points for each.
Small note, every Walker uses the Monstrous Creature rules for movement, and therefor every Walker already has the move through cover rule
And oh, no matter where on the battlefield, this unit is going to make some poor Xenos having a REALLY bad day xD
I hope that helped!

Okay! Thanks for clearing that up! Remember that the best way of finding out it's point value is by test play!

Am I correct In assuming that melta weapons get the 2d6 against the rear armor?

I think you might mean 'The Emperor's Wrath'. 'Wraith' works too but it doesn't make much sense Also, does the melta weapon rule affect attacks from all arcs or just from the front? 200ish points sounds about right to me, looks like a fun character!

I don't see why you need to specify that the shield increases his front armour, you could just include it in the profile.

And yet he has a piece of wargear that increases his front armour to 14. Why bother putting this information on the wargear when you could just make his front armour 14 in the statline?

I was assuming it was attached to an arm that could be lost due to Weapon Destroyed result.

Can the shield be destoyed on a weapon destroyed result. If that happened the character would become practically worthless defense wise compaired to his points at that point. Woudl be very fun to use. i love the idea and stats

I am not sure this is correct. Some walkers have move through cover, but not all. Check the scout sentinel ruleblock. I'm pretty sure it does but the armored sentinel (for example) doesn't.
As far as your units, if you're playing these as IG (I'm assuming), then they bring high strength melee to IG, so they should be overcosted by a bit, but it's apoc and there are things FAR more terrible you could do than just some slightly tweaked Ironclads, I'd peg him at 200 and each henchmen at 125.

The "Walkers move like MC's" is simply not correct. Not any this or any edition. I'm just really curious where they thought they read it.

Yeah, that's just silly, because the ironclad entry in the 'nilla marines codex stats that it has move through cover, and has a short little article on why too.
