Got the latest DLC for Rome 2, and good lord almigthy. It certanily adds a new level of difficulety to play as the Illyrian faction(the name eludes me at the moment), constant unhappy populations, more slave revolts & reglar rebelions than I care to count and rock hard troops all adds up to a rather frustrating gaming experience. Albeit a good one, so far I have crushed Rome, beaten back two invasion attempts by Athens and secured me a good number of the minor tribal teritories inland from my starting position. That and my fleets are enganging several acts of wanton piracy across the seas.

I recently picked up Starbound, and have been bouncing between it and Diablo 3 (still)

I'm definitely liking Starbound, I just wish I got more quests, and that the graphics were a bit more "modern".... Im not complaining about the 2-D sidescroller, as that's pretty sweet, I just wish that the graphics were better than 16 or 32 bit graphics, lol

Yeah I'm looking forward to more quests too. Hopefully the final version has something a bit like skyrims radial quests.

One or more persistent multiplayer servers would be cool too. Make a base only to have it raided by pillaging players...more than 4 players working together to build massive cities and amusement park type stuff.

Glorious Lord of Chaos

The burning pits of Hades, also known as Sweden in summer

Soloed one arena and a half of Chaos Exterminatus in Space Marine as a Raptor. I would have gotten further but it was practically impossible to kill the 6 man melee squad of Space Marines- when I tried to separate one from the group, he was just too tough for me to kill before his buddies could come and tear me to pieces.

Still, before that, I managed to kill over 650 enemies, including dozens of Nobs, 16 Primaris Psykers, and various other Imperial and Ork foes without dying a single time.

Don't you agree that Space Marine is wonderfully fluffy, Melissia?

But for some reason things like that never happen in the tabletop... Strange, very strange.

Wow really? I only started it and stopped playing because I'm not really into rpg's. I picked Illuminati because I don't like the idea of preachy Templars (can't say I'm a fan of religious zealots for the most part) and eastern culture was never my thing.

Like I said though I haven't played much of it.

The story is as solid as a sheet of rice paper, the combat system is flawed and shoodily done in classic Funcom style alongside the looks & atmospheres of the game. The factions are unintresting at best with the same clicheses and overly hollywood like as in almost every RPG game.

Well I haven't played most of it but parts of it seemed alright. I feel like your opinion might effect my later perception of the game though.

For me it's like hearing Geralt being a total man wh*re in 'the witcher' made me think he was as did the person say the women in that game were pretty easy and loose. My other complaint with the game was just how few options you had and how extreme they all were. Basically there was Choice A being screw one group, Choice B screw the other group, Choice C screw everybody except yourself. In the end I didn't go neutral because I decided it generally hurt more people than if I didn't pick a side. That said I tried resolving things but because the game is stupid it only has 3 options instead of a crap ton like some other rpg's. That said for a fantasy game it did have some interesting creatures and themes. I'm surprised more women aren't offended by that game where you basically collect cards for women you f*ck. Probably making this the only card game that you get more sex for instead of less like all other card games ;P.

Another issue I had is how the h*ll does a creepy looking corpse-like dude with cat eyes get so many women to have sex with? I guess women like cats and undead dudes (twilight) or something.

Going back to it i'm kind of surprised that more women don't get offended by that game and instead choose less offensive games to get offended over. Maybe 'the witcher' just isn't mainstream enough?

Ugh sorry for the rant but I'm full of em.

I do see your point to an certain exctent, but The Witcher has somethin The secret world sorely lacks, and that key element in all RPgs are atmosphere, and as regarding his special looks, well he is after all somehow genemodified/ breed for the task he has in life. and that is slaying monsters, and he if scarily enough, quite honest as regarding to his opinions and feelings, so I guess there is also that to pipe in.

Probably a bit odd but would you like to play some games on steam some time? I sent you an invite with the name FKM in case you're wondering. You weren't the only Trondheim so I wasn't too sure.

I used to be really big on xcom and you said you played it on the other thread.

I guess I did that hastily but I'd rather just have a game fairly soon with somebody. Not sure it's your thing but have you been playing the 'wargame' series yet? It's that Cold War era rts game. It's a lot of fun.

I actually really liked the first three zones of TSW... Kingsmouth is one of my favorite MMO areas ever. As long as you turn off world chat and don't just look up quest solutions - it's the only MMO i've ever played that actually made me think.

Of course eventually I just got exhausted by doing that and found myself only playing in fits and starts.

So I played 'Wargame: Red Dragon' with an online friend today. He played an American deck I think and I played my French deck and we fought against a Danish army and an American army. We had something like double the kills as we had losses and this was against very hard A.I. so expect lots or resource cheating on their part. Basically we held on while shattering their forces until they had almost nothing left. Then with most of the hour up we started pushing back with not too heavy resistance. Oddly enough the enemy holds way too many forces back from its main assaults.

My heroes would be the crappy French anti-vehicle choppers (the ones that cost like 50 points or so). One of them killed like 5 seriously awesome tanks.

I fought more Danish enemies and though it was probably because of which side of the map I was on I think a large portion of our enemies were Danish because they just can afford more units since more of their forces are crappier. Whereas the US army takes a hit having less units per card for elite units and each elite unit costs a lot. Considering we had to fight nasty high end abrams tanks, a-10's, f-15c eagles and what not I think I'm probably right with this. I dunno if it's still true but last I remember in 'wargame: air land battle' the Danish army was pretty weak. It was nearly the weakest if I remember and was lacking in many areas even if they did get more units overall. Apparently the Danish army is a never-ending tide . Maybe those Danes get 'freaky' more often then the rest of us ;P.

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

I'm playing Girhen's Greed 5: Threat of Axis on my PS2. It's a Japanese Gundam import game, one which I had been searching for for several years before finding a copy. I've had it for two years now, and I've only just recently worked up the courage to play the Earth Federation faction during the One Year War scenario on normal difficulty.

This game is kicking my butt up around my ears and costing me too much sleep. The scenario gives me 100 turns to beat it, and I usually have to re-start the scenario around turn 11 or so because I get relentlessly slammed and end up losing too much territory to keep going. I've beaten it on Easy and Very Easy, but I can't seem to get anywhere on Normal difficulty.

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)

Bit more Dark Souls today (strangely, it's not getting repetitive despite dying and respawning hundreds of times). I've killed my first Black Knights (thanks for the tip about lightning), redefined Crown Control (who knew Halberds were so effective at clearing corridors?) and come up against the first Gargoyle... man, that thing is rough when you first fight it. It flies up, you expect it to swoop down, and then the tail with an axe attachment slams in from nowhere.

Just one.
That joins mid-way through the fight with the first.
So you fight both at the same time.
I hope you saved some pine-resin.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
