I just wanted to throw this topic out there and see what everyone's feeling was. Do you think there will be another edition of Codex Chaos Daemons? or Do you think GW will just paste it back into the next version of codex CSM, (since there will be another edition of that without doubt.).

It will likely remain seperate, although Codex: CSM could get Summoned deamons replaced by appropriate deamons from the Deamon Codex.
Summoned lesser Deamons will be either Bloodletters, Deamonettes, Plaguebearers, and Horrors. with special rules to go with each.
Greater Deamons would be either a Bloodthirster, GUO, KoS, or a lord of change.

I think they'd almost certainly remain separate (weather I think they should or not is another matter), as they have a dedicated (if small) fanbase and range of models and we all know that dropping a Codex - no matter how small - isn't a popular move.
I don't think simply C&P'ing the entries from Daemons into CSM's would work either, as I found making my fandex. The Daemons are balanced in that they have to whether a turn of shooting and can be disrupted by deep-strike prevention and poor reserve rolling.
If it was copied into the CSM summoning method, their main balancing method (weather a turn of fire) would be lost, meaning that your 10-man squad of power weapon wielding nutters can easily make it into close combat without being shot first, which is a seriously (over)powerful ability.
The summoning methods in CSM are arguably much more reliable also, so that would be a further balance issue.
So yeah, I'd say a separate Codex and separate units. If this was a thread to discuss potential changes to the Codex however, that's something I'd read...

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

I can't imagine GW making fewer books. Stranger things have happened, but I seriously doubt it. I think it will be a LONG time before demons get redone. There are quite a few models still missing for a codex almost three years old. They would need a sizable investment just to get all their current models in plastic, newer than 1998, or even exist. much less more units in a new book. If GW hasn't done it by now, I don't think it's high on their radar.
Man of man I wish the next CSM book (also pretty far off IMO) would get proper summoned daemons again. But I'm not holding my breath.
Automatically Appended Next Post: But Daemons need some reliable anti tank shooting. I don't care if it's limited or expensive, they simply don't have any right now. Nothing but single shot S8 (usually hittings on a 4+) or overpriced single shot S10 hitting on a 4+ just can't keep up in the current environment.
Here's to hoping...
