This is legit, I'm not looking for anyone to break the law.

I have a handful of customized head bits that I'd like cast in resin. If anyone's up to the task, send me a PM or respond to the thread.

Thanks

Where do you live in the Eastern US?

I've casted everything from weapon-sized things up to vehicle-sized things. It's easy to do yourself. Just need someone to run through it with you once or twice the first time.

I live in PA. Do you do pressure casting?

I actually use the kit from Smooth On. It's 2-part rubber and 2-part resin. If you're just making little heads, this should be perfectly fine. I can't get into what I was casting exactly, but let's just say that tabletop side-by-side, you can't really tell the difference. The only issue is with the resin itself...you will get airbubbles in certain areas but as long as you shake the molds hard while it's curing or agitate them, you can eliminate the majority of them. With heads, you will be fine.

You basically arrange the sprue yourself. I used the FAQ from Stormthecastle.com.

Use the 2-part mold. It's about $50 for the resin and the rubber. You can get it at Dick Blick in the city, or mail order. Seriously give it a try, it's not very difficult.
