So I really like the idea of unbound, 3 casters with alternating turns sounds pretty good to me. I only get to play once every two weeks or so and the idea of bigger games that are fast and fun sounds really good to me.

Just wondering what other peoples thoughts are?

not really seeing a downside to it so far

even if you dont have enough models to play a side on your own you can team up with others to make ip the 150 needed...and the alternating turns make sure that boredom waiting for your turn is at a minimum

Hey, I just met you,
and this is crazy,
but I'm a demon,
possess you, maybe?

I'm hoping it works out.

I'm already planning FA expansions.

I think it will be cool as a novelty game. But I still think the 35/50 point games will still be the sweet spot.

Points Painted
Legion: Locks 0
Menoth:33; Casters: 2
Retribution:27; Casters 2
Trollbloods:21; Locks: 2
Mercs/Minions: 2

It will be nice to have a format that gives some opportunity to field models that usually sit in the case (Assault Kommandos/Longgunners/etc.), and the idea of alternating Warcaster activations seems like it will help mitigate the uber-feat problem of multi-caster games.

It looks neat, but I have a lot of Apocalypse stuff around here gathering dust, so I'm not going to start buying second or third units of things just yet. We get NQ around here tomorrow, so fingers crossed!

May have to put together a couple forces for the format.

150 points of Warcasters, Jacks, and Trenchers here I come!

I'm thrilled that it's a NQ rules release and not a full book. I was getting worried when we first heard rumors that this would be the Apocalypse of Warmachine, but from everything I've seen so far it looks like a great alternate format for days when you feel like doing an evening of team game at the LGS or whatever.

Damn, I'm 30 points short with both of my big armies! I can't play unbound!

I'm rather excited about it myself. I love bigger games, and regular WM/H gets very ungainly at larger point levels. I'll have to give it a try some day for sure.

So, do we know more about this? Is it possible to do Allied forces for it(say, Skorne and Agenda)?

Not for me, I don't like the wm/hordes rule set at 50+ points. I still prefer 35 points.

Nope, still requires a legal army. Full rules are in the latest NQ.

Poo, guess I'm stuck with him as a Minion Caster with his Jacks in a Skorne force. Was hoping to bring along some "Loyalists" as well...

Not saying it isn't. I just wanted my Loyalist Trenchers tagging along, too. I like my Loyalist Trenchers.

Your Loyalist trenchers don't like tormentors much.

As far as I can tell through reading the rules and articles Unbound isn't going to speed up a game. It is designed so you have less "lag" time between your having to do something. So if your typical 150 point game takes 5 - 6 hours with the normal rules it will still take that long to finish the difference is that you won't be waiting say 40 minutes for your next action (more likely 10-15 minutes per person per action taken).
