Okay then!
So, I've decided to finally give into the marines and make a list.
Any criticism or ideas are completely welcome.

10x Death Company - 225
Powerfist

Death Company Dreadnaught - 125
Blood Talon w/ Storm Bolter
Blood Talon w/ Meltagun

Death Company Dreadnaught - 125
Bloodfist w/ Storm Bolter
Bloodfist w/ Meltagun

HEAVY SUPPORT
Stormraven Gunship - 200
Twin-Linked Multi-Melta

Stormraven Gunship - 200
Twin-Linked Multi-Melta
Twin-Linked Lascannon

Total - 1495

Firstly, i'll generally be playing Close Combat Nids (Swarmlord, Trygon, Carnifexes and co.), just so you get what I'm thinking of facing.

The idea is to basically chuck the Death Company and whatever combo of Dreads into the Stormravens, fly them forward, shoot and drop the D.C and Dreads on enemy lines.
Use the Furiso to jump around firing The Blood Lance off and randomly hitting things with his Force Weapon to try and pop them.
Use Astorath to hit HQ units if I can and hope to kill off most things quickly.
So pretty much a straight out assault force to slam into the nids I face.

Again, any criticism is welcomed.
Go nuts.

I might be wrong, but you dont have a single scoring unit, do you?

Your only allowed one unit of death company in your army period. You could combine the 2 into one, since it can be 30 big, or more likely drop one for 2 5 man or more squds of assault troops.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

Orock, he has Astorath who removes the limit on DC squads.
And hemlightest, i think you have missed the point of this list, its not designed to win by holding objectives.
It looks quite fun. Although not many models because of the extra Dread and Stormravens (but against nids, stormravens probably do alright, unless he has lots of Hive Guard)

Since you are going to be going for anti-tyranid army then i would use the multi meltas on the stormraven for monsterous creature hunting plus the bloodstrike missiles but you may want to think plasma cannons or assault cannons for taking out the swarms.
Also it might be an idea to drop 2 dc men and put flamers on the dreads. It also leaves an extra fifteen points for extra armour on one of the ravens or a hand flamer, inferno pistol or power weapon.
Just some ideas.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Thats about right, I don't plan to hold objectives, if I need to, might swap out something for a small scout squad.
And I should be alright, I'm 99% sure my friend isn't going to use any Hive Guard, he'd rather take something big and chompy instead, that's just how he is.

Now that you mention it, plasma cannons would be fun.
I also had thought about chucking flamers on the dreads... I just like flamer weapons all round, so they're always possible.
Then I think i'd just chuck some extra armour on one of the Ravens.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, shall give them all a ponder.
