So I picked up the new book just now, in the model showcase bit it looks as if there's some new metals to come out in a second wave or a mini wave next month perhaps...

Prince Apophas
Necrotect
Ushabti with great bows

I don't have the facilities to take pictures right now, but I'm sure someone does...

Just thought people would like to know

Cheers

The metal models are being held back as GW is transferring from metal over to resin models. Just be patient.

I'm not saying I'm desperate for them I can wait, I was just letting people know that they clearly exist, even if indeed they are going to be resin (seeing as there's been no official confirmation yet), just reporting what I found is all.

I've been meaning to get scans posted for a few weeks of these guys, actually. I promised them in a WHFB Discussion thread a week or so ago and haven't gotten around to it.

Apologies I didn't know, I haven't seen the TK thread in a while, and didn't see these in it last time I looked. Mods can move/delete this then if they wish I'm sure.

The Ushabti models almost make me want to start a TK army.

They have for some time now...

Then I think about the cost of getting all those core units built up, and sanity prevails!

As for the Ushabti, it seems they've lost their themed heads and gained bird skulls?!?

There's 2 different head styles in that picture. Seeing the picture in the book itself helps to spot the differences better.

One Horus and one Lizard/Crocodile head, as with the old Ushabti.
But the book has been in stores for several weeks, discussed since then and on sale since Saturday, so all this is not exactly news anymore.

Stopped by my local gaming shop the other day and saw the Tomb Kings book. I don't really like playing WHFB but seeing these models makes me want to play the game again. On a side note. i noticed that the Codex was a hard cover. Are all the future GW codexs for 40k and Fantasy going to be in hard cover? The guys at the shop said yes, has anyone heard otherwise?

WHFB Army books will be hard back from now on. 40k codices may become hard back in 6th Edition but they will remain paper-back as long as they are designed for 5th. The ones designed for 6th but released before it may be hard back, we'll just have to wait and see.

I hope not, I buy all the 40k Codices and have them spiral bound, this would be a real hassle to deal with if they made them hardback.

Short update: The Necrotect and Scarab Prince are on the official Citadel Finecast poster, so in the new material and packaging and might be released 28th May or shortly afterwards. The others probably as well.

Another update:
June will see the following Tomb King models as a Finecast release (thanks to Archibald_TK on Warseer for posting these):

Casket of Souls - 45.5€
Ushabti with Bows - 39€
Ushabti with GW - 39€
Tomb King with GW - 12.5€
Lich Priest - 12.5€
Necrotech - 12.5€
Prince Apophas - 15€

Tlotsqi also said that all are single packs, but for Ushabti that makes no sensefor 39,- € (or they are avalable as blisters and as a set)

I'm very dissapointed with the crispness of this new resin, everything looks like a blurry photo.

Minor update:
Both Ushabti boxes include 3 models (as are treekin and jezzail teams), the new box ushabti share the same body, only arms and head different (unclear if these are finecast or metal).
Release date for Ushabti, Apophas, Liche Priest, Necrotect is June 11th. (thanks to Stekkos over at Warseer for this info from the upcoming WD).

I quite like that model tbh, a lot better than the old ones.
It seems like TK are going for the oversized weapon look, maybe its to do with a lot of the army having access to the killing blow special rules.
