Played the original (Blue in my case) back in the day.

Playing White at the moment, after skipping all of them and it's quite enjoyable though some Pokemon are really dumb (Vanilla Ice; really?).

I like how TMs are no longer one use only.

Yep still playing, have had on version of each generation. (Blue, Yellow, Gold, Ruby, Leaf Green, Heart Gold, Black)

Played blue when I was a kid, then got pearl a few months ago... Might have to go grab black or white today!

Started with the original blue and yellow on game boy colour. Got pearl a while back and also got heart gold last year.

But just to say: original series> all others.

Still playing Pearl. Still haven't done everything that is possible to do.

I'm currently on my second run-through of pokemon black.

Scraggy/Scrafty is easily the best in-game pokemon ever.

I mean seriously, the moment you get up to the bug gym and find an eviolite (1.5x the defence and special defence of an unevolved pokemon), Scraggy is simply unkillable. And Scrafty has a really awesome type advantage against the elite four (except the fighting guy...).

You'll get toxic'd out of the gate and ferrothorns passive and item will diminish the gains from drain punch. Don't spend too long dragon dancing or you'll suicide with that punch!

Also, I'm regretting getting Black over White as Black has less rare wild pokemon, but more trainers.

If it had both Electricity and Ice, that would be good (especially as Ice is sort of weak, but it would be good if Ice was the counter to the 'mega' types like Steel and Dragon while weak to common types like Fire and the others).

Though Electricity is rather good if that happens, as it has very few weaknesses and is a bit dumb with flying (or worse, levitation making it immune to it's only weakness; nice design there).

I would probably prefer:

Steel -> loses poison immune (poison is sort of corrosive, but not enough to make a weakness; normal damage to steel), gains Ice weakness

Electricity -> Gains weakness to Grass

Well actually Ice is the weakness to Dragon along with Dragon.

Yeah, I've played a heck of alot of pokemon, and am now going back to my favourites (RSE). I personally like ghost types especially Sableye and shiny Haunter. Speaking of Shinies, who has had the dreaded shiny no poke ball situation?

In fairness there aren't a lot of monotype ice pokemon in general and it's still looking better then poison as a typing for most situations.

I accidentally deleted my save file a couple of weeks ago. I lost Mitch, my lvl 65 Flareon, and Fauntleroy, my lvl 66 Scyther

Poison is another world of problems. I don't know what would work to make Poison types more appealing.
