The helljack known as Erebus serves Lord Exhumator Scaverous, murdering all in its path as it eagerly gathers souls for its master. The lives Erebus has claimed leave it steeped in the detritus of a thousand deaths. This spectral effluvium envelops the machine, repelling any who try to strike its blackened carapace.

Indeed. So many people give PP crap for copying GW models, GW must have decided to give them a taste of their own medicine and copied some of theirs.

Two sets of shoulder spikes, the head, and a loincloth that you can't see in this picture but is visible in the 360.

It looks like he'll be fairly easy to build using a metal Slayer. There's a good chance I'll get this.

Fair point Tarnish, there are now three super Slayers, four if you include Deathjack.

???

How do you come to that conclusion?

Everything but the head is standard issue Cryx warjack. By the by, theres really nothing in that sculpt that says new.

Looks like gak. Of course, if your implying that the dark eldar are gak too, thats not far from a strech.

As far as the whole ohh ahhh about this one, theres nothing to it that says new.

The storys a joke about it as well.

I dub thee, Gakjack!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

You realize it was a joke, right? Anytime something PP makes resembles something GW makes, people jump all over it for copying. Well the new Talos/Chronos kit resembles a Cryx Helljack, at least as much as anything PP makes resembles something GW makes. Do I actually think one is copying the other? No.

As an upgrade kit, it certainly looks nicer than that silly Malice kit.

Although it makes me wonder how many Retribution jacks were scavenged for parts.

He's alll floppy looking.... like a sulking teenager.

I want one though! Considering all that's changed is a pelt a head and some chimeys it looks very different.

I wonder what the rules for him are. It sounds like it deflects attacks or something not sure how that will work. Maybe the first kind of saving roll on dice or maybe something similar to retribution's sheilds but is perhaps powered by souls?

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

Funny, as someone who doesn't like PP's mechanical stuff, it's the proportions of the other Warmachine races' jacks that throw me off. The Cryx stuff is a lot less silly-looking because the elongated claws and slimmer limbs contrast well with the forms of the 'jacks, unlike the rounded forms of other jacks that just look topheavy. Cryx is the only race I've even considered using 'jack bitz from for conversions.

That said, this one is less sexy than the other Cryx stuff. Must be the ugly head.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

How about this one then?

though the picture isn't the best.

Like the jack but I've always thought the PP painters don't get the colours or finish right on Cryx jacks. Eg the decription mentions a blackened carapace....

As £28 for the GW model is a lot and you'll be left with plenty of spares while the PP jack is $12 (but I'm not sure if it's still available - luckily I have 2, 1 painted & 1 still in the blister).
I might buy the GW one but only if I can check if I can make 2 engines with only having to sculpt a new carapace.

Quickly... I wanna address both sides of the fence on whining about who stole who's idea. Seriously? There isn't anything new under the sun anymore. Period. Don't believe me? Look at Hollywood. How many movies in the last five years have been remakes? How about movies based on novels, comic books, etc?

Appreciate the cool looking model and support your preferred/favorite companies by buying it.

As long as both companies keep making awesome models, I don't care who steals what from whom. I wish Privateer would make new armies call Blecron and Sneeranid, and GW would make Sryx, or something like that, and just rip off wholesale so I could have awesome models that would work for both!

Also, someone needs to go all out on a Lovecraftian themed force.
